More Stuff on NCS Game

At the 15:17 mark, Dixon sent in Cam Johnson for Jamel Artis. The first player off the bench. Slim.. responded with a miss and then an air ball.

I am not getting down on Slim here... he had a big game against BC and so Dixon wanted to get him in the game earlier. I wouldn't do that but not a big deal IMO.

But... sitting Artis down early when we were having problems scoring??? What the heck was that??? If he wanted to get Slim in the game then sending him in at SHOOTING GUARD... now I could accept that.

Yeah.... the big problem I have with Dixon is his rotations and... there are times when I feel like I could strangle him.

Another item... NCS was playing 'deny the ball' on Jamel Artis. This was giving us a lot of problems and you gotta give Gottfried credit for that one. But, we did not respond to it very well and Robinson and then Young threw the ball away on consecutive possessions trying to get the ball to Artis and that is when things started going downhill fast.

But... replacing Artis with Slim because of this... you must be kidding me.

He replaced Artis at that point because of Artis' play, not because of any desire to get Johnson into the game early.

Maybe it is just me but Artis was looking a bit, shall we say, disinterested at that point. Maybe the coach wanted to let him gather his thoughts a bit. Concentrate on the fact that Pitt missed 12 shots in a row early in that game and shot very poorly the whole first half. Not on a substitution by the coach. Jamie obviously was hoping Cam could hit a couple of shots to spark the offense. Like everyone else he failed.

If he was gonna do that then bringing him at SG.... and their guards other than Barber were all tall 3ball shooters that Slim should not have had a problem with... would have allowed Dixon to keep Artis in the game and MAYBE we would have found some spark.

Yeah, would have been a great idea playing Slim at SG given Smith and Jones not doing much positive out there.

He's also wrong about why Johnson replaced Artis at that point in the game, but what else is new?
