Oh, It Be the Fan has the worst Management in Sports Radio! Anyone can do that job, but only a few do it right, with information, entertainment, and letting the Callers decide and engage the Host and adjust to the agenda of the Caller not the Egos of the Hosts that always brings about them and what they eat, watch on TV, and their wives whims and lives.

They are complete Jokes that practice what they have to say and limit Callers by time restraints, the Best Sports Radio keep the best Callers on the Radio so long as they make good points and provide great Info in doing it.

Like I said, I can listen to Zeise, Peak, anytime and Starkey once in a while, but the guys are just horrible and if you show them up, they hang up on you, then berate you while you can't respond.

They have the Fans in many cities and the Agenda and Host follow the same criteria, time limits, and find guys that can't really do much in any life and you don't feel sorry for them, you feel sorry for the Callers and I'll listen to religious Radio if NPR is not available it has less hypocrisy!

"Anywhere" has to want them and be willing to pay for them. There is absolutely no chance, literally a zero percent chance, that either dve or xdx would sign a contract to broadcast Pitt sports any time in the near future. There is no question you are right on FM not many places to go, but when in Pittsburgh 970 AM is far better and Madden is always entertaining but in drips and drabs ever since they exiled him after talking about the Rooneys.

The Fan has some cheap equipment as well when it is on remote and shorts out many times during BB & FB games, and right middle of plays.

KBN out of Youngstown has terrific Sports and listening to PITT-YSU game last year was even better since they knew many things about Narduzzi and Tressel talks at Half time and during the week on all football at times. Akron-Canton has terrific Sports Radio. but only get it when there.

Thank goodness only KQV has Penn State Games, they shut down their Watts at 5-6 PM and you can't pick it up in Sewickley or Airport area.

Maybe the ACC Network will include RIVALS RADIO someday, it would be great to have Websites Opposing Hosts talking back and forth during a Game Streaming and with one Neutral Announcer!

40,000? You are off by 12-15,000.. Pitt has 20,000 students and club seats. That's playing into the narrative.

Most of the time when I used to listen to The Fan in years past (I only listen now during or after Pitt games), most of their air time was commercials because the hosts were incompetent bags of hot air and didn't know how to be real talk show hosts. I doubt that has changed and has probably gotten worse. Is there one competent host on that station? Just one??? I can't think of any, including Zeise. He's borderline.

The point that should not elude anyone with any intelligence is this. Heinze field typically has 45 to 50 thousand Pitt fans every game. That leaves around 15 to 20 thousand empty seats. If every one of those seats is filled by a nitter [which won't be the case] Pitt fans would still occupy over 2/3 of the stadium.

This is basic common sense.
