After watching Damon for about six weeks, I have been impressed. I am going to name a player that he reminds me of. Not necessarily in style, but in potential and development. I just want to make that clear. That player is Brad Wanamaker. Damon is very different from Brad and the two play different positions. With that being said, I notice some similarities as freshmen.
It is difficult to explain, but the speed in which they play as true freshmen are very similar. Most of us remember that Brad made plenty of mistakes early on in his career. Too often, he was trying to make plays but was just out of control and not familiar with the speed of the game. It took some time. I see the same thing in Damon. He has a lot of ability. Great size and potential. You can see that he has good instincts, but he will throw a pass too hard or force a pass in transition. Even during the last month, you can see that the game is slowing down for him. There will be mistakes and errors in judgement, but I see the same type of potential in him as there was with Brad at the same time.
