Saw that...thanks Sparty! Pitt does have a lot of advantages, ut the institution just has to care about winning, which they finally do.
Not sure you know Pitt's history, but we've gone back in forth between doing really well in football, only to self-sanction the program. We're still digging out from what the higher ups did to Pitt football after the 1989 season.

I don't even understand the controversy here. We are located in the most fertile area of a historically fertile state that happens to border another historically fertile state. Location has never been PITT 's problem, institutional commitment has been Pitt's primary challenge. That and attracting the attention of the locals.
For those who might fear that Narduzzi would run back and take the Michigan State job if Dantonio should retire, this should give you some comfort that that won't happen. Pitt is the better spot to recruit to, according to him.
You don't leave that job to take a job in which you were frustrated by the recruiting challenges.

Well, we also assembled quite the staff here to help with recruiting, I think Narduzzi can definitely get up there with the classes Wannstedt was pulling out and beyond.
Yeah, but what about when one of those schools in the recruiting-rich south shows interest in Coach Duzz...
But I agree that he is well-positioned at Pitt - especially given his Ohio connections.
