This morning I was listening to Fox Sports Daybreak Radio (National Radio Broadcast) with Andy Furman and Mike North. Leading into a commercial North ended their segment with "Boy have I got an interesting and unorthodox story about a college coach who is going pretty far to keep an eye on his players". I immediately gasped, as I had an idea what this next segment may be about. Sure enough, the next segment led in with some reporter talking about how Narduzzi and Staff was staying in the dorms.... and naturally human feces mound Mike North framed Narduzzi as an overprotective coach who was hovering over his players. Andy Furman didn't have much to say about it, but when North said that incoming recruits will look at this and be turned off, the reporter who was delivering the scoop essentially told North he was an idiot and that getting closer to your players as a new head coach is definitely a good thing. At any rate, North went on to say that it is probably a good idea because our best player was found guilty of "Underage drinking and DUI".

This rubs me the wrong way for a few reasons. First of all, I know that on-air time is limited on, but I wish that the news would specify that Boyd had two drinks and was charged with DUI because of the ZERO tolerance rules for underage minors (Even if they are months away from full "adulthood"). People may infer from "underage drinking and DUI" that Boyd was actually intoxicated (wasted)... when he wasn't. I know this differentiation is too much to ask, but as a homer, I would prefer it.

Secondly, this can't be THAT big of a story. There HAS to be plenty of other coaches that do this sort of thing. Just doesn't seem newsworthy.

Does coach have a family? After the constant Penni barrage during the Fraud days, I would think we would have heard a little about Narduzzi's family by now. I'm sure they miss him.
