Narduzzi Embraces Past Rivalries, But New AD Will Decide About Backyard Brawl. LINK!
Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi said the Panthers will “embrace future and past rivalries” but deferred further comment on possible resumption of the Pitt-West Virginia Backyard Brawl until Pitt hires an athletic director.
“That's something the new AD will have to answer,” Narduzzi said Wednesday. “We will have those conversations when he gets here and with chancellor (Patrick) Gallagher, as well.
Pitt and West Virginia have not met in football since 2011.
“I grew up with the Backyard Brawl,” said Narduzzi, whose father, Bill, was a Pitt assistant in the 1960s. “West Virginia is a great team in a great conference, and we want to play the best.”
