Narduzzi on the loss, the offense and more

Back to blaming the kids. Part of the reason they kept going three and out was because it was a terrible game plan not execution.

Couldn’t see the game this week but 7 penalties to zero in the first half? I think we had 9 to 0 in the first half last week. Certainly aren’t going to win many games like that. Thought that would have been cleaned up at this point of the season.

Where did he blame the kids. You can game plan all you want but when the DL dominates the OL like they did yesterday there’s no game plan what will magically work.

It was simply one of those days where the team on offense had a bad day and Miami was on top of their game.

Miami’s defense was exactly what was expected.

He mentions the players telling him they were looking past this game in the locker room earlier this week. And he mentions that several WRs drop balls. Then at the end he says it’s not the game plan that’s the problem. It’s because they couldn’t make any plays and so they kept going three and out.

All of this suggests they were calling the right plays and had the right plan but that the players weren’t executing. Which is always the reason he gives when they lose.

I know the players love him. I love him. My fear is that this staff keeps grinding the only way they know how expecting things to get better because the kids will just start magically executing. But maybe the issue is that the scheme and playcalling is not what puts the kids in the best position to win. Fact is when we get away from running the ball too early we are dead against better teams. For some reason we have done exactly that the past two games. Wake’s defense wasn’t good enough to make us pay...Miami’s defense was. And we know Clemson’s defense will too. I’d rather lose doing what we do best than leaving our QB out to dry.

Most of what he said is factual

There were critical drops
Kenny missed guys and had passes batted down.
Penalties hurt
He didn’t throw Dintino under the bus. He said he thought he did Ok

He also took some blame

…and then in the second half, either they wore us down or we did a poor job of coaching them.

s, we have to have a better game plan and we have a week to get going. We get to go play in the biggest game in

The fact is they just got beat up front and there’s not much scheming you can do to get around that fact

Fans are ridiculous sometimes. This game was going to be a challenge for us regardless of 1 injury or not due to our very un-athletic offensive line. The Miami defensive line dominated us to the point we could not run our offense. The speed showcased our lack of athletic ability upfront other teams did not have those types of defensive fronts and we were able to use our strength and scheme to open hole for QO and DH. This Pitt team is still a good team that beat Cus, Duke, UVA, VT, GTech, & Wake all teams were were considered equal to or below. You can slice it anyway you want but beating all those teams in one year is a huge positive for this program. Also running the ball effectively against equal or lesser talent is another create to Watson, HCPN, & Borbs for getting away from dink and dunk and attacking teams with our legitamate threat QO/DH.
Last 4 years
3 (potentially) - 8 wins seasons
Coastal Division Title
Quality QB with 2 years to go
Emerging Defense

Things aren't perfect but it sure beats Wanny firing/Todd Graham/Haywood/Chryst circus years 6-6.

Lots of teams and fan bases across the country would like to be us this year. If you think your program is going from 5-7 to national champs your lucky if that happens in a lifetime let alone a 5 year period.
