Interesting comments from Pat Narduzzi at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Club Luncheon yesterday. A reporter put the comments on YouTube and Brian Batko from the P-G wrote about it. Narduzzi basically offered a "no comment" on the MSU situation, as you would expect, but I thought this quote about Pitt's players and their expectations was interesting, too:
"I truly believe we can win championships at Pitt. Our kids need to dream big and it takes time to change your culture and build your culture. When I got there, they had won six games three seasons in a row. I can’t tell you how many - over 15 kids - their dream the next season was to win six games or more. You talk about shallow dreams. That’s where we started and I don’t want to be around a bunch of guys that just want to win six.
“Gradually, as we’ve been around, we’ve started to change the culture to the point where even during the holidays and New Year’s, they’re texting me back and forth and telling me, ‘Coach, we’re going to win a championship.’ We’re breeding that type of culture.”
