From 2012 through 2015, Pitt landed a total of 11 Top 500 Nationally rated recruits in the National Composite rankings. In 4 recruiting classes COMBINED... And only 3 were defensive players

-In Narduzzi's 1 year and a half, he's already brought in 11 Top 500 players, including transfers Hendrix and Chris Clark, and we are not even 2 cycles through.

-Paul Chryst's recruiting was a complete embarrassment. And winning 6 games became the norm with these guys.

-Narduzzi already won 8 games his first year, better than both of them in the prior 4 years. Is already on pace to win 8 games his second year. And has brought in twice the talent then both previous coaches in less than half the time. By the time 2017s' class is done, Pitt should have upwards of 18+ Top 500 players. Its a dam shame Hendrix and Hamlin are hurt and not helping our defense. But keep recruiting like he has done and stacking 3 classes in a row like his first class, we'll finally have depth and can afford injuries.

-And sadly to top it off, Fraud and Chryst both coached in the soft marshmellow weak as a soft flower Big East conference for a season. And to rub salt in the wound, Chryst got blown out by Youngstown State and Cincinnati, lost to Uconn, and bottom feeder Syracuse. The Fraud wasnt any better when you get blown out by Southern Methodist, Rutgers, and Cincinnati.

-So give me a break and cut the crying for losing to Oklahoma State by 7 points in the last 2 minutes of the game on the road against an actual opponent. Chryst and Fraud had enough trouble with the marshmallow teams.

Steel and hyperbole often go hand in hand, but on this one, he is spot on and couldn't agree more.

Hammer Meet Nail

but how good is Oklahoma State? Bad officiating or not Central Michigan took them to the last play of the game, on OSU's home field. And they defended Oklahoma State far better than Pitt did.

And Pitt could have easily won this game with better play calling after the delay.

About a month ago, steel was posting all kinds of stats on how bad they were on D and how our running game was going to destroy them.

OKST isn't that good. PSU isnt that good. Pitt isnt that good. There is a reason why we were underdogs in 8 of 13 games last season. We dont have a ton of talent. We have good RBs, a good but way overrated OL, and a star safety who is more of a run stopper but not great in pass coverage.

Wanny was our last good recruiter. The last 3 seem to be about equal with Duzz being the best coach of the bunch.

Amen...the funny thing it is only about four d-bags on this board who are never happy. But hey...why would anyone let some facts get in the way of their constant moaning.

Oh wow top 500 players, let's all celebrate. Tell ya what, let's get lots of top 100 guys to come to Pitt and I'll be much more excited. We need the Tyler Boyd types to come here, not Avante Maddox types.

Dude, least he is being real, honest , and what he says is closer to what is going on then pie in the sky!
Exactly. There are a few on here who have claimed "next year" as Pitt's year now for like 2 decades. If we are still bringing in the majority of 3 star guys it doesn't matter if Nick Saban was coaching, we'll always struggle against top teams.

I don't necessarily disagree but he rants about the same stuff over and over and over. Beats the recruiting subject to DEATH. Does it on the hoops board too. I don't wanna name call but it's like a tantruming child - especially when you throw in all his cute little all caps rants. Clearly he's a passionate Pitt but It gets friggin tiresome.

And yea I know there's an ignore button.

You're correct about the next year thing. That's why I said in another thread I'm tired of 7-8 wins being a goal.

I don't mean to seem like I'm beating you up but ease up a little. Anyone on this board knows your position. You beat us over the head with these recruiting rants.

And I think last year's class is a little better than you give credit for. And let's see how this one finishes out before we deem it a failure - or a success. Duzz came on strong last year towards the end. Let's hope it repeats.

I love how every team pitt wins against or plays close always ends up not being that good. So typical.

I get it I am repetitive but I feel like there are lots of "Pitt can do no wrong" people on here posting the same thing all the time as well. I stand out because it isn't positive and sometimes I post all caps but in all honesty I'm no different than the pro-Pitt all the time guys. I want to see our recruiting better and for us to stop settling for mostly avg talent with 1 or 2 4 star guys a year. We can and should be able to do better than that. It's time we did.

-We have won 6 games 4 seasons in a row with dogshit recruiting and you have been blasting the current staff to death. Reset your expectations, Pitt wasnt winning the National Title this year. Most Pitt fans had the win bar at 8, including me. We are on track to get that in year 2.

I think you can stand out for the reasons I stated. What's funny is the way you've expressed yourself in this post is FAR different than it has been over the last day. Your tone is a complete 180. I don't want it to appear that I'm judging you - but consider this approach. It sounds well thought out and comes across as a reasonable opinion vs an emotional rant. Not that there's anything wrong with that occasionally.

And I agree with the last part. We're never gonna be Bama but I refuse to believe we can't be Michigan State with a committed administration.

Quit your bellyaching and root for another team. I'll make some suggestions for you:

PSU - Hasn't won a National Championship in 30 years. Has won ONE out right Big Ten title in 22 years... They should make your miserable ass happy...

WVU - Has never won a National Championship. They pissed their best chance away in 2007 when they lost to a 28 point under dog at home. Surely they will put a smile on your face...

Were you at the game yesterday? No? Do you know there were Pitt fans that drove all the way from Cleveland to come to the game and didn't bitch for one second after we lost. STFU!

Now I'll put your miserable, grumpy, entitled, idiot ass on ignore... I suggest everyone else on the board do the same...

My kids and I were there as well

As soon as I figure out where that damned "IGNORE" button is, you're going right on it via my account too. Nothing but whining and pissing & moaning.

Entitled childish comments 100% of the time.

Jesus man. Being a fan isn't supposed to be this painful. You're never happy, ever. We weren't going to win the national title this year. All the other goals are still in reach, enjoy the ride.

People forget that there's so many good places for these kids to go to school and unless your local and want your family to attend all your games what advantage does going to Pitt have over 40-50 other schools. Pitt needs to win meaningful games especially those on national tv ,their brand in both Fb and bb need upgraded to attract the kind of athletes needed to compete against the best. This won't happen overnight , looks like the Fb program is ahead of bb right now.

-Your right. There are. And thats interesting too, because in Narduzzi's first full class, most of our best recruits came from OUT OF STATE. Now isn't that interesting?

Chris Clark- 4 / 5 Star- Connecticut
Dewayne Hendrix- 4 Star- Tennessee
KeyShon Camp- 4 Star- Florida
Amir Watts- 4 Star- Illinois
Chawntez Moss- 3 Star- New York
George Hill- 4 Star- Ohio
TMAC- 3 Star- Ohio
Ruben Flowers- 3 / 4 Star- Ohio

-For our other Top 500 Nationally rated recruits, 3 were from Pennsylvania. Hamlin, Pugh, and Matthews.

-And here's something else. We have 2 early big fish in 2017, 1 of which is from Ohio-Sibley. The other silent verbal is also out of state, and is not Jeter.

-Now for whatever reason, Narduzzi early on is doing dam good going out of state. That's a really good thing.

Just like some kids want to stay local some kids want to experience going away to school . If it's true that an elite recruit like Jeter goes to ND there's no blame on the Pitt staff the kid has to go where he feels best about. Playing Fb for ND can't be bad and the opportunities after Fb aren't bad either .
Ohio kids grow up dreaming of playing for TOSU same for Michigan kids wanting to play Mi /State . Pitt needs long term success and stability in their program to achieve this kind of appeal for WPa kids.

This seriously has zero to do with Narduzzi.

The kid never said a bad word about Pitt or Narduzzi, just the fans.

But wait til he sees the ND fans during bad times

From his days at Michigan State, he has the connections out of state. Recruiting is at least 50% of the game. Nuzz did well last year.

YES! Look at the close games we would have lost in the past...Georgia Tech, UVA, and VT last year especially. The weather delay helped Ok St more than us, Gundy even said so after the game. Chalk it up and move on, we're not the finished product but getting there.

They were booing ND during the MSU game, and want the DC fired. Some ND fans even want Kelly fired. I wonder if he took note of this as well. Kelly's Twitter account even gave a like to firing the DC.

vangorder got married this summer in hawaii. bk made the trip to be at the wedding. they both coached together at grand valley state back in 1989-91. then they both coached together again at Cen Mich.

2 NC titles at Grand valley state
1 MAC title at Cen Mich.

Maybe bk fires vangorder, maybe not. to be honest, i care less about their defensive problems and care more about us fixing our defensive issues.

-Here is a serious question, who wins more games this year between Pitt and Notre Dame? Kelly is on year 7 of his Notre Dame rebuild, Narduzzi in year 2.

-Going into week 4, Pitt has a better record and Notre Dame has a bad loss to Texas who just got embarrassed by Cal. Both teams have comparable schedules. If Notre Dame loses 5+ again this year, anyone want to wager Kelly's fat ass is on a very warm hot seat for under-performing again?

we have to play the games to find out. hopefully this season we finish better than last season.

steel, sometime about a week ago, you claimed wade was ours to lose. still feel that way?

-Nothing is a guarantee in recruiting. As you found out with his whole Jeter situation which I find comical in its own right. With that said, both 247 and scout.com have put Pitt in the drivers seat for Wade.
