In the wake of Pitt's defense recording 11 sacks in Saturday's scrimmage, Pat Narduzzi spoke highly of the team's offensive line and its development in pass protection. He took some of the blame for the sacks on himself, pointing out that he blows the whistle on those plays (Alex Bookser said there was a "quick whistle") but Narduzzi went further than just that. Here's what he said after Tuesday's practice:
Narduzzi: I’m not worried about that at all. Our pass protection right now looks like it’s better than last year’s, even with the guys we have.
Last year at this time, you mean?
Narduzzi: No. Last year during the season.
That’s pretty good since you lost three or four guys.
Narduzzi: Yeah. I mean, I’ve been impressed with the protection and they’re doing a nice job.
