Disclaimer: This isn't meant to be a particularly protective piece for Pat, but one that I think we all just need to live in reality.

Pitt has New Heights issues, that they still need to get a lot of funding for, profit sharing is coming to college athletics, NIL, etc. They're not going to fire a coach and pay a buyout to him, when he's signed through 2030.

Narduzzi, is he the best coach? No, obviously not. Does he fit Pitt's culture, and he does seem to really bleed blue and gold. I think sometimes when you're a program like Pitt having some stability at that position can be very beneficial. I think let's give him another couple years. This is the first year he's fully kind of embraced a different style of offense, and a different/younger coordinator. Both him and Kade even though they both deserve blame for the 2nd half of the season, deserve some leeway to get this thing straight next season. I don't think it would take a lot to make this team into an ACC contender. It starts with keeping the players you need to keep, then from there making moves on the O line, secondary, and probably D line in the portal. I think Holstein has a hell of a future ahead of him, and we all know the biggest piece for a good football team is it's QB. Including Kenny I don't think Pitt has had a QB this young and good as long as I can remember honestly. Their linebacking core is young, and elite. Even with George graduating and leaving there are plenty of really good reinforcements behind like Lovelace, Marcelin, and Lindsay.

I know this has been a tough stretch of games putting it mildly and especially when the games are happening it seems grim, but I think when you look at it from 10K feet it's not all that bad.
