Good, fast defense being played by both teams so far...

People continually underrate Michigan’s defense.

Villanova will eventually wear Michigan out with their relentless style and depth but this will be a close game. 77-70 nova pulls away late

Michigan are playing some really nice basketball, but Nova will pull away late. Still think they win by double digits, there's really no comparison between the two in terms of talent. Hell, they're already starting to pull away and it's all DiVincenzo.

Hard to disagree...but we will see!

Up 9 with a chance to go up double digits!

Not lookin good for for Michigan rn...

Hope the day comes soon that Pitt could compete with teams like this .
Novas too tough , can see them opening this up in the second half .

Especially not getting called for offensive fouls when committing then and your opponent getting called for them.

They are an excellent team.

Jalen Brunson literally commits an offensive foul every time he posts up.

Wagner called for two offensive fouls and a technical within 4 minutes during the second half. The second one was a foul.

Not the reason they Will lose but I like to see a consistent called game

Not sure why anybody expected this to be close. Michigan should have lost to both Houston and FSU, then they got a lucky break with Loyola in the Final Four while Nova demolished the other legit contender for best team in the country in Kansas. Michigan doesn't have the athletes that Nova does and Beilein, although an excellent coach in his own right, isn't on Wright's level.

Michigan didn't play anyone higher than a 5 seed the whole tourney.

Mid-Major Villanova talk made me laugh. Let's look at the traditional Blue Bloods in hoops.

I'm using 1976 as the starting point since 1975 was the end of UCLA's domination.

In the last 42 years we have -

UCLA has won 1 NCAA title, that was in 1995.

Kansas has won 2 NCAA titles, 1988 & 2008

Kentucky has won 3 NCAA titles, 1978, 1996 & 2012.

Indiana has won 3 NCAA titles since, including 1976's unbeaten team (the last to do so), 1981 & 1987. None in the past 30 years with just one other appearance in the finals, 2002.

Louisville has won 3 NCAA titles, 1980, 1986 & 2013.

UConn has won 4 NCAA titles, 1999, 2004, 2011 & 2014, that's a pretty good run in 15 years.

UNC has won 5 NCAA titles, 1982, 1993, 2005, 2009 & 2017.

Duke has won 5 NCAA titles, 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010 & 2015.

Villanova has won 3 NCAA titles, 1985, 2016 & 2018.

I'd say that makes them much more than a mid-major.

This should have been a closer game. The superior team won, but the refs and Michigan's poor shooting coupled with DeVincenzo's going off, made this a 17 point game when it should have been alot closer. If Michigan shoots their normal 3 point %, and they missed a bunch of open 3's, and had the refs not called touch fouls on Michigan only, we could have had a good one.

The best team won, but the refs helped, and they happened to have a guy play way over his head. He is a great talent, but there is a reason he doesn't start.

He is a great talent, but there is a reason he doesn't start.

Kevin McHale, Dennis Rodman, Bobby Jones, Michael Cooper -- plenty of players came off the bench that were their teams 2nd-4th best player. Not comparing him to them as a player, maybe he's a borderline NBA role player at best, but I meant in terms of role for his team Jay Wright again went with one of his best players coming off the bench, like he did with Josh Hart.

DiVincenzo shot 48% from the field, 40%! from three, and had a 21 PER this year. He was their third best player below Bridges and Brunson (third on the team in win shares, win shares per minute, and PER.)

He played 29 minutes a game, including sitting in blow outs, so it's not like he came out of no where.
