NC lawmaker threaten ACC

So what would they do, start their own conference? They'd probably be counting on Duke and Wake Forest going along, but that's not a given. They may end up with just East Carolina, Charlotte and Appalachian State instead.

UNC and NCSU aren't going anywhere. Nor do they intend or want to.

This is a politician making noise.

Duke, Wake, UNCC, ECU, and ASU aren't going to be involved either.

This guys got nads. And he would have them cut off if he succeeds in pulling a trick like this. Plus those crackers would vote out any legislator who votes for a bill like this.
Exactly. Pulling State and UNC out of the ACC is about as popular an idea in NC as a politician in Pittsburgh threatening to push the Steelers out of Pittsburgh for some reason. Not only is this threat a completely empty one, its wildly unpopular in NC as well.

A waste of taxpayer dollars to even have that bill written. It'll never happen.

However, didn't the NCAA the partial repeal met the minimum requirements for hosting events, so Id imagine that NC is back in play for the ACC without this.
