I really hope narduzzi goes after jurkovic hard and tries to get him to flip. I get the allure of ND, but I can't think of a bigger jackass to play for than Kelly, regardless of if the team is doing well or not. Jeter made that pretty clear that's what made him flip to Michigan. Why would anybody want to play football for such a disgraceful program? Chronic under-achievers and cheaters to boot. Embarrassing.
This. The NCAA shows once again, you are supremely rewarded and almost never punished for cheating. EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS!!That $5,000 fine will kill them.
Yes, academic misconduct with a University paid/supplemented employee cheating for them. It happens everywhere (yes, that includes Pitt) but if it is only a slap on the wrist, why wouldn't everyone do it for every player?I hate ND, but did you read what the violation was? IMO its not worth much more than a slap on the wrist.
Not sure about time period or school, but the ones I know got many perks from working with the athletic department. Especially those specifically working with the football and basketball teams. My undergrad was athletic training - I wish I got paid/supplemented to do my clinical rotations haha. Instead my free labor for the University was more expensive per credit once I was in the School of Health and Rehab Sciences.
Realistically, student athletic trainers and student athletes view each other as other students, not with a University representative/athlete distinction.

So, ND "vacates" a couple seasons, which changes nothing except for a few asterisks, and pays literally the smallest fine imaginable. Most of their students could pay that fine and not even think twice about it. There was absolutely no consequence.
