need help on identifying a year

Pitt was playing Syracuse. Troy Benson picked off a pass late in the game.
Backup kicker Pat Viancourt was sent in to try/make a very long field gold to beat the Orange.
Does any one remember the year and how long the kick was. I'm pretty sure the game was at the Carrier Dome.
