New commit

Good way to patch some holes. Not ideal to be in a situation where we need to start a grad transfer from the worst team in the MAC at a premium position but at least he has experience.

low risk 1 yr deal, has played all positions, no brainer.
Yep, it definitely makes sense. Obviously rather have Calvin Anderson from Rice, but that seemed to be a longshot. Hopefully he can lock down LT or at least be a guy who can swing to anywhere there is trouble. Big need with a very young and inexperienced group. There is some potential, but none are close to can't miss.

I for one am generally not in favor of Grad Transfers. I thing generally they just slow the development of your recruits. Take your lumps with young kids and let them grow.
My exception would be IF you have a veteran squad missing a key piece to be Championship ready... Russell Wilson from NCSt starter to Wisconsin starter.

Man, the coaches around FBS sure do disagree with you.

It is a good way to add depth/spot starters to the team when early entrees/recruiting misses/injuries leave you thin at a certain position. Grad transfers in general typically aren't that good though, because if they were they would just go pro and hope to get drafted in the later rounds. A better use of a scholarship than reaching for a late flyer at the end of the cycle imo.

Would Narduzzi still take the Rutgers OL or the Rice OL as grad transfers?
Wondering how good this guy really is?

I'd assume they would definitely take Calvin Anderson from Rice, but not sure on Applefield from Rutgers. This is such an important season for HCPN and we will have a 1st year starting QB, so adding that experience on the OL would be very beneficial.

OL would seem to be different in that the developmental curve seems to have a low slope compared to other positions, so if they have proven they can play, I say take'em
