He is here, on a visit (?)Interesting because you dont see guys come straight in from Europe anymore. They usually prep here first. Jarrod West (Marshall/Louisville) was the leading scorer for his team so maybe that's the connection as we recruited him pretty hard a few years ago. If he is a 41% shooter then he's a take.
Yes, he is. Looks like a very skilled player. He is here, on a visit (?)
Payton had a really good couple years at Kent State though
Probably why there is so much parity in college basketball right now. So many of these mid-major transfers are crapshoots. He could barely get on the court for Pitt, and then he averaged 12.6/7.4 this past season at Kent State. Did he get a lot better? Maybe. Is the MAC just that much worse? Maybe.
His release reminds me of Joe Girard. He's a take at this point as he'd improve the roster. My only question is where do they play him? It would almost guarantee Austin plays mostly at the 4.
Bulkier? Not seeing that one bit.I would think this dude would play as a stretch 4. Although it's mostly just semantics, I guess, as they'd both be "wings" of some sort. But this guy looks bulkier to me, whereas Austin looks more apt at defending a guard if they were facing a team that was playing three of them.
