What happen at The University of Missouri is portending coming changes at Universities & Athletics is playing a bigger role even more now.
The University of Missouri President was making $450,000 but every Football Game now makes $1 Million, and that is needed to fund all sports. What the Players did and Football Coach joining them on a Strike will serve as an example when Unions want to organize the Players in the future. This is currently under Review at the NLRB and Courts that recently reversed the Northwestern Lower Court Decision, most likely headed to the Supreme Court.
As more money is coming to College Football with the ACC Network near planning to implementation stages, B1G New TV Packages, and College Football Playoff possible most Likely Expansion, expect more Student Athletes Empowerment like what happen at Missouri that can topple a President and the Chancellor!
More Olympic and Minor Sports could be dropped into Club Status to fund themselves, and Universities will one day move to form a "For Profit League" and then the Football Programs will share in a larger type of model similar to the NFL and Players being paid but Cost coming under more control in other aspects!
A new dawn is approaching with each change in College Athletics in Power Five Conferences and they will start to change and nothing can stop it! When one Football Game is double the value of any College President and some Assistant Coaches are making 3+ Times over those same Presidents, Athletic money talks more than Academics!

The good news is Chancellor Gallagher looks like he has the vision and innovation ability to keep Pitt in the game better than other Universities.
I believe that sign was given to all at Pitt after Chancellor Gallagher's 3 Month Decision to force Pederson to bring back the Pitt Script, and even Pederson got the message a month later, it was time to take his Buyout Money and leave for Retirement Pastures, since he became a "Captain Dunsel" (A Part Serving No useful Purpose!)!
Another portending sign of things to come was how an Interim Athletic Director & Committee, selected a New Head Football Coach in weeks and not even worry about finding a New Athletic Director for months? Small Signs and Actions reveal Big Things to come!
College Football has grown so big these last Two Decades, College Football Coaches And Players, are having a far bigger impact than anything at Universities, and I can't see anything ignoring or stopping it!
They took out a College President and the Chancellor with him and that is not a one time event in my opinion, bigger things to come impacting all Schools, Just a Hunch!
