Nope, it doesn’t. Which is why it’s lasted for so long and when they tried to change logos it failed.

Every Panther logo with the exception of the seal has been a better College Athletics logo than sleepy squirrel ...yes even dinocat

why do animal logos always have their jaws hanging open like mouth breathers. that leak logo would be pretty solid if you shut its mouth
cause they are growling, fierce, ready to pounce on their prey. it's supposed to be scary. I get your point though, a "snarling" logo could work, it'd be different.. can you snarl and not show teeth? I can but can an animal?
even slightly less mouth breathing would be pretty awesome. if that's even the logo.

The Pitt admin was afraid of the negative connotation of a mouth-breathing Panther. So the new logo will feature a distinguished, learned looking Panther wearing glasses and a mortar board with tassle. It looks great with the suede elbow patches on the new unis.
Someone deleted it? I just wasn’t able to find any pics. However I did see that panther head from this thread on a ball cap. I’m not a fan.

New logo is serviceable. Huge improvement on all secondary logos since starting with and since the dinocat. Anxious to see the new football and basketball getups.

I'd love to see a Panther clenching the near death, bleeding carcasses of a handful of helmetless foes clad in white with perhaps the remnants of a female cheerleader outfit nestled between the two foes...basically looks like a blue and yellow Panther version of this:

It’s not a bad logo if not a fake.
I really do not think the new uniforms will look like the never worn in the past throwbacks.
The blue will not be periwinkle but pretty close to navy. While the gold will not be bananas; will be closer to yellow than the schools actual color of old gold of course....
These uniforms will last until the next regime comes in and to make its mark will ask Nike, why doesn’t Pitt wear it’s own school’s colors ?????

It’s also pretty hard to get an embroidered logo to look right on a hat. If this is real, a 2D version on a shirt or other media could look really nice
Lol, come on guys. This isn’t nice, it’s not terrible. It’s just meh. With pitt and it’s brending efforts over the last 35 years, meh is good.
Don’t tell me you are excited about this though. It’s a secondary logo that evokes nothing. Not good, not bad. Which, when dealing with pitt, is a win.

It's a secondary logo. It isn't supposed to replace script pitt
