I guess the idea of allowing an August-May traditional soccer calendar with the NCAAT in May is not happening. Everyone wants it except the NCAA. So, this is the next best thing. From what it looks like, its like a 6 game mini-season using FIFA rules which differ greatly from NCAA rules. It will be run by US Soccer, not the NCAA.
There are 5 ACC teams + Georgetown
