On me, after seeing the pics of players photo shoot and seeing how all the diffrent numbers look on actual uniforms and next to eachtoher and getting over the yellow color all over and lack of Pitt script in the jersey and must say I can't wait to see them under the lights Aug. 31st!

I agree. Too much yellow in my opinion and the font will never grown on me
Agree. We should have hewed to the classic old gold and medium-dark blue.

‘18 jerseys are so much better. Only at pitt do we finally get it right and as soon as we do, we change it up.

I think the color scheme was picked so it would "pop" on high-def TV.

We now have numbers that replicate the arches on the cathedral.
We had numbers last year that were traditional looking.
I can assure you that not one mention of these numbers / arches will be talked about as long as we have these unis.
Yet, we sacrificed a traditional look......a look that represents one of the 25 winningest programs in CFB history
A net loss in my view. We gave Nike way too much freedom.

The uniform is one that people will know it's Pitt, and TBH, that's the bottom line to me.

I won't quibble. It's so much better than the bland and generic ones of previous years. The odd fonts give the current gen something to 'own' of the new design; it's not merely a throwback of a previous era.
I watched a cpl youtube links some had posted of older games recently. VT / Pitt 2001 i believe. It startled me how really ugly that torch cut stuff was. Oddities of this new uni aside, it is definitely a Pitt uniform, and those myriad past post-1996 efforts simply were not.

who really cares, people put to much into the uniforms, they look nice but the jerseys wont be winning games.
IF we produce winning teams while wearing these uniforms, then the current players and younger fans will never want to give-up these uniforms. These uniforms will be the reminder of good times and great football.
I don't care about the unis, but this old skit came to mind after reading this thread.....bunch of guys commenting on fashion.

Agree with your 2 dislikes. They are going to pop on the field and on TV so number font and a miniature panther head are small items. Just leave them be.
I CAN ASSURE YOU, the 10 players that I see this semester all seem to love them! They are much better, in my view than any we have had in many years;

I like them and the numbers have actually grown on me a little bit. Yeah, they are cheesy and contrived, but so what? It’s college football in 2019 and cheese is the flavor of the day.Im not gonna complain after the disaster that was the last uniform.
These are still a 9.
The helmets are better than last season, the stripe actually goes all the way around the helmet.
I take that back. These uniforms are a 10 . I like the yellow numbers .
I’ll reserve judgment until I see them in action, but I’m pretty hopeful.
On a broader level, they are definitely way, way better than any incarnation of the beige and navy uniforms we’ve worn for years now and that’s the most important thing to keep in mind.
I do think they would have been better off with a darker blue and maybe a more muted gold as well. The “Pixar Blue” bothers me more than anything else.
Also, I think it’s ridiculous they don’t have the script Pitt at the neckline. I think that’s the biggest miss in the whole uniform. The pant stripe is also still too narrow.
However, we are Pitt and we are never going to completely nail anything like this. Personally, I give these a solid B and maybe even a B+ — depending on how they look in game action. And for Pitt, that is a remarkable score.

Sure but you know as well as anyone that the Pitt administration is and has always been a haven for idiots. If we were to win, they would force out Narduzzi and then change the unis to be more like ND, WVU or PSU. Wash, rinse, repeat.
