Funny how he can do that on the national stage, but in Pittsburgh they worry about looking like homers. Small time mindset.

Local guys never seem to mind appearing like homers for other local teams. It's basically a prereq that anchors wear black and gold on big Steeler or Penguin game days. Extending to the news and weather people.

It is probably mandated by management though. It is amusing when a new anchor comes to town on Friday, from somewhere like Texas, then shows up bundled in black and gold on Sunday and starts the broadcast having to gush over the "big win today by OUR Steelers!" Probably has to bathe in Listerine after that.

There’s just too many damn radio shows, I don’t really listen to them much.

Pretty sure I saw some tweet where Poni was decked in a Syracuse shirt. (I follow Mueller on Twitter, he’s alright I guess. But not Poni... and yet because of the other Pittsburgh media people I follow I pretty much can’t avoid his ridiculous tweets).
