I said at the time this would have big impacts and because Pitt is on the low end of donors there was a good possibility the gap would widen. But any kid who has a chance to make some money - I say go for it.

If Pitt is losing a current player who is very talented to a better NIL deal then I guess it's up to Pitt, and more directly, it's boosters, need to find a way to do better. If it's a recruit then I'm going to say, who cares? Either way, I can't really find much fault with a guy trying to do what he thinks is best for himself and his career.

Here’s my main concern. What’s to stop someone from spending $10 million + on an elite player? Then that number keeps going higher over time. Where does it end?
I wonder if NIL will cause rifts and jealously among teammates as some guys on the biggies will figure they might be getting shortchanged because Moose next to him got more than he did.

Yeah it sucks as a fan, but the schools and NCAA only have themselves to blame for sticking their heads in the sand while collecting bank for decades as the profits exploded. They had to try so hard to spend the money and shift it into other funds so they could justify "amateurism".
This all could have been avoided if 10-20 years ago they started a profit-sharing system or trusts tied to graduation, or literally any system that showed they weren't just absurdly greedy. Instead they waited until a 9-0 Supreme Court ruling demonstrated how ridiculous their claims have been.
Get the money, everyone else associated with college football has been cashing in for half a century.
