NIT / ACC

It hasn't been publicized if they opted out, but I'd imagine that they likely did with so many seniors on the team. That or they know that they are getting invited to the more prestigious "The Crown" tournament. The selection process and team eligibilities for that tournament are really unclear.

"While we are certainly disappointed that we did not make the NCAA Tournament, we believe declining the invitation to the NIT is the right decision for this team at this time ..." said head coach Steve Forbes. "Now, our focus shifts to the future as we aggressively attack the roster-building process for the 2025-26 season. We are excited about what's ahead and look forward to continuing to elevate Wake Forest Basketball."

Thanks. I didn't see it when I looked for a list of NIT declines.

It makes sense. Senior laden team that seems like they've been in the FIRST FOUR / NEXT FOUR out for the past five years. It has to be demoralizing to the program.

Basically, if your team has a disappointing season, you opt out of the NIT. Stanford, GT, and SMU overachieved this year and feel somewhat good about the NIT
