No Fans In September For Pitt Games

Who decided this? I'm not seeing any news releases out of Harrisburg?

Who decided this? I'm not seeing any news releases out of Harrisburg?
I read on Twitter (so it has to be true) that the Eagles also will not have fans in September and the Steelers just announced that it won't for its Sept home games. So I imagine this came down from Harrisburg.

I know it’s not any consolation but I’m wondering if the games are going to be on tv other than the ACC Network.

The city of Philadelphia has already told the Eagles no fans at all this season.

No Soup for You!

"The Eagles are still going to be allowed to play, although without crowds. The Phillies will continue to be allowed to play, although without crowds," managing director Brian Abernathy said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

"We have been in communication with the Eagles. We have told them our expectations are that they don't have fans."

I am curious as to how they are going to determine which people get to attend. How many students and which ones get to go? I’d assume family members and friends get first dibs.

Probably a bit of all of that. And throw in of course, big donors. No way they’re getting shut out. Wouldn’t shock me if it starts there down to a certain level of giving. Then everyone else gets what’s left.

The big issue I have is they aren't allowing families. How would yopu feel if ykour son got seriously injured and no close family member was there to support. Personally, we're going to just roll our 2 clubbers over to next season.

And Temple will have no fans. Suggestion: this is going to be a weird season. Ending this virus is the main thing. Go with it.

Just got the email.
not allowing 25,000 fans in a 70,000 seat stadium and having me having to buy mozzarella sticks before I can buy a beer at a bar is saving countless lives in PA and I applaud our state's leadership...

.....but our Gov. allowed 20,000 people per day at the Car show near Harrisburg.....Just say'in

I just don't understand why they say "no fans for the month of September". The reality of it is, there will be no fans at all this year. There is nothing to suggest that there will be a change in the states reaction to the Coronavirus within the next month, so why drag the decision out?
What the decision makers fail to realize it that every time they make a statement like that, it builds the hopes of people wanting to attend games and crushes their spirits when they extend the order for another month.
