Dear Santa instead of the helmet magnet I would prefer a win over ups or ND if not both, by the way Santa I have really been a good boy this past year. Hail to Pitt!

Our local HS is partnering with a local car dealer is auctioning off a 35 k value new car when you attend home games. You accumulate points with each home game you attend and the car will be given away after the final home game. Great idea!
Why doesn't PITT do things like this??

I dig my helmet magnet. Who could be against that???
Had a couple minor gripes in past years ... the car items they sent were cool, but used adhesives and are not easily removable, and I don't slap such stuff on my pristine heaps. The translucent window decals that can be placed on windows from the inside are the way to go (i have a groovy big H2P decal rocking on mine currently)

That was my favorite token among recent handouts. Goes to show you can't please all the people all the time! The knick-knacks are a nice but unnecessary gesture. Winning teams are what I want.

I’m a bitch because i’m trying to see the correlation between gifts from the AD and winning? He asked a question and received reaponses that had nothing to do with his question....so I was trying to put it together.

The reason more people haven't come to games is because we aren't winning more games and besides that there's no other Buzzzz to get them to Heinz.
Give aways work!
People like free stuff or a chance at free stuff!
When you're not winning its smart to come up with plan B to get the people to the place. More people in the place could result in better recruiting, and more winning!

The thread is being somewhat reconfigured. So I'll throw in my opinion that they'd frankly be better off offering things at the gate like the JC bobblehead than to have giveaways in the ticket package itself. Id extend that to fancy graphics on tickets themselves, which have to cost at least a little to design and special paper and printing etc. As well as the little guide they include.
As minor expenditure as those may be, you're not giving incentive to actually USE the tickets (a.k.a come to the game) doing that. Put that money instead into things like the bobbleheads and *gasp* like the Pirates do with their free shirts or caps. A lot of you will call it dumb but people like cheap swag.

But a chance to win a car ( $ 35k) might move some "big lazy butts" off the sofa to a PITT game.

Anyone who buys season tickets and is in attendance in the 4th Qtr has a chance at free season tickets next season, Club Seat Giveaways or basketball season tickets this year, or just basketball single game tickets, or a money prize or dinner wth Duzz, or lunch with Heather or they get to wear the Roc costume after a hot day at Heinz before its washed some might like that.
Winning is best, people in the seats helps get better players, and better players are needed to win!
