but just got a text saying it's going to be lonegran.

I don't know to be honest.

Decent but unspectacular if true.

Thanks for the post. I am not that opposed to Lonergan. We could do worse. We will not know how this turns out for a couple of years if this is indeed true.

I would not be opposed to Drew, Enfield or Darner either.

If so, some splash

If it's lonergan it's a terrible hire. Just terrible
If Lonergan had this GW team in the ACC, he would have gotten it to the NIT. If this GW team were in the SEC, it would have been 3rd best and in the NCAA.

He seems a very sound Xs and Os coach whose teams play smart and tough. That would not change at Pitt. The issue is, if Lonergan is at Pitt, can he up his ability to recruit to take the next step?

Does he recruit his tail off and plays a up tempo style? Honestly don't know much about him.

He began in D3 - no scholarships. He had 7 consecutive teams make the tournament and won 1 National title.

He made the NCAA once at Vermont, which means he won only 1 American East tournament. But 4 of his 6 teams made the post season, and he had 2 regualr season 1st place teams and 2 regular season 2nd place teams.

He has made the NCAA once in 5 years at GW. This is his 3rd consecutive team to win at least 22 games. The A-10 has been better than the SEC all 3 of those years.

Lonergan would not be a Home Run hire, and he is not sexy. But he is the kind of old fashioned coach who could fit right into Pittsburgh and draw quality kids to the program.

Officially announced by whom?

-He leads his teams to the NIT - (Not Important Tournament) and CBI (Chump basketball Invitational)

Reading this board gets worse every day, people here who think their experts on picking coaches from schools who are low ranking DIV 1 schools and think just because their not spectacular compared to the bigger schools are rediculous, the ACC is a whole different level and any one of these guys could do a heck of a job,the honest answer is we don't know and nobody on this board knows,I don't care who your so called sources are,all I care about is at the end of the day can the man coach, that's it not what people on this board think
