I did some checking and Pitt losing 6 of 8 has a direct correlation to Jeff Capel not using his bench like he did the first 2 months. Not counting the Virginia game because he only used his bench guys once the game was over in the 1st half.
I'm not gonna go into some deep dive but it's pretty obvious that Capel literally all of a sudden decided to limit his bench guys. Jorge was playing lights out hitting over 60% from 3 and Capel then effectively benches him for 3 or 4 games. Cummings looked like he was really figuring it out, then gets effectively benched too. When he does come in imo he looks completely unsure of himself now. I'm sure he's worried that any little mistake and he'll he back riding the bench indefinitely.
Maybe people will disagree but Pitt had a nice thing going when Cummings and Jorge and Papa and even Amsal were getting minutes.
Now the team has collapsed and Capel has no answers.
