There is virtually no difference between 3 and 15. Maybe even 1 and 15 as this is the worst Virginia team I've seen since they got good under Bennett.

I mean, yea, when you are up 12 in the 2nd Half, you expect to win and you should win. You shouldn't allow a 26-5 run but we arent a great team. Massoud and Antonio were 12-15 from 3. I mean come on.

When Capel was hired, my expectation was that in Year 3 we contend for the NCAAT. And although, this loss knocks us out as of right now, I think we'll be in contention until late in the season. I think the ACC is going to be UVa and FSU around 14-4 or something like that and then from 3 to maybe 11 or 12, they'll all be like 11-7 to 8-10 (assuming 18 games). But the bottom 3 really arent much worse even though their records will suck.

Anyway, Pitt vs UNC game is a "play-in" game for that moment in time. We're still where we need to be and UNC is NOT more talented than we are. I don't know how but they're not.

Lol. North Carolina has 3 better bigs than our best big even if Hugley is available and their guards are at least as good as Horton and X and probably better. We have them on the wing but it’s not like those guys aren’t talented as well. And they’re hot. Winning against them is going to be extremely difficult.

Yes they do but college basketball is a guard's game. Overall, the talent is relatively equal. It will be a tough game I agree. Every game will be.

UNC has a LOT more overall talent than we do. Man vs man matchup down the line (bench included) is an advantage for UNC. But Duke had the advantage as well and we beat them. We need to play a good 40 minutes as a team and then we have a chance to win.

I definitely disagree. Pitt has the best player on the court, maybe the 2nd best player in Toney, and Johnson when he's good is as good as anyone.

As Jay Bilas said on Packer and Durham....this year in the ACC, if you play well, you will win. In other leagues and in the ACC in other years, you could play well and still lose. If we play well, we will beat UNC

You vastly overrate our overall talent across the board. I guarantee you UNC has more guys drafted in the first round and more guys drafted overall from their current roster. If both teams play their A game, then UNC wins. It isn’t even a debate.

Absolutely more will play in the NBA but its a college basketball game Tuesday. If you had to draft a team to play 1 college basketball game, who do you take.

I take

1. Champagnie
2. Toney
3. Bacot
4. Johnson

I agree with that list. After that though it’s probably several UNC guys in a row. Who is our 4th best player? AKC? Horton? I’d take Caleb Love, Garrison Brooks, RJ Davis, and Day’ron Sharpe over either. Maybe even Leaky Black too.

Depending which X shows up, good chance we do have 3 of the top 4 players on the court. But UNC still has more overall talent. We could win by 20, we could lose by 20, or anything in between.

Are we playing in a 3 on 3 tournament? They have one of the best front courts in college basketball, then add in Love, Davis, and Black to the backcourt.

Yes UNC has more overall talent 5-12 but we have a major advantage having the best 2 players and lets be honest, Horton, Sibande, Femi arent major downgrades from their role players. Andrew Platek gets major PT for them and wouldn't see the floor for us

whats REALLY funny is that your post totals are 20 to 1 after a loss vs after a win.

hmmmmm.

NC has a big talent advantage, especially inside. Our chances in this game are strictly dependent on our defense and rebounding. If we let Bacot or their big frosh post up as close to the basket as they want we are dead. Not to mention, I don't know how bad we lose the rebounding battle.

This is just a horrible matchup. I watched NC play State yesterday and their man-to-man D was pretty damn good. Assuming we can beat our man, they have shot blockers waiting. Who do we have that can finish against Bacot or the other big? This is a game where we will have to pull a Wake and shoot really good from outside.

NC is playing the best basketball of any team in the conference right now. I don't want to sound like a big downer, but, we will have to play great ton win this game. I would bet that Carolina wins by 10+ simply because inside is no contest.

You are talking about a "Last 4 In" team. They arent that good.

They are good, and they are hot, and getting better. They are not unbeatable by any means. That said, you know that basketball is about matchups and particularly mismatches. Roy Williams is old but, hasn't lost his marbles. He will be sure to attack us hard inside. We do not have players that can matchup at all. I expect TB and AKC to foul out before the 10 minute mark in 2nd half.

North Carolina will likely win our conference tournament because of their ability to dominate inside. They will need a little more from the freshmen guard and Black to get it done, but, I can see it happening.

Hugley is gone and i agree, we are a terrible matchup for UNC.

Pitt’s NET surprisingly only fell 5 spots after the Wake loss from 53 to 58 so yes it was a tough loss and not a very good one but I don’t think it’s a season killer either. I still expect this Pitt team to win some big games against some quality teams down the stretch and have enough on their resume at the end of the season to either be on the right side of the bubble or right there on the bubble come selection Sunday.

They had more talent last year and we beat them twice, without their pg of course but
