Not sure about anyone else, but I enjoy Doris Burke.

Yes she is very good!
She knows the game and does a great job!
I don't like the women they run out to interview college coaches at halftime!
My wife doesn't either due to the fact that they don't seem to understand their own questions.
My wife was a youth/JV football game announcer early 2000's when it wasnt fashionable to have a female football announcer. She had her battles with men was good because she knows tne game.
We had two boys who played thru HS and college so it was part of our life in addition to wrestling.
I do like the woman NHL analyst ( cant remember the name) who's on NHL channel.
The girl knows hockey!
Oh yes I do like the other college lady basketball announcer again I cant recall the name maybe Karabut she played and knows bball and she's good.
It comes down to do you know what you're talking about or our you faking it! Doris is the real deal!

I agree Doris Burke is excellent. Remember that she was announcing the Pitt/G'Town game back in 2001 when Page dunked over Boumtje-Boumtje. She has called dozens of Pitt games over the year and always is very prepared and offers good analysis.

Sometimes having a woman announcer (either play by play or color) makes me pause. I never feel that way with Doris. I think she's terrific.

One of the best. Knows the game well. And she's able to communicate her knowledge to the viewers.

She is one of the very best. Little known fact, she led the Big East in assists her Senior year at Providence.

It's irrelevant that she's a woman in my option. Just one of the best.

That's it. I think that is the ultimate compliment I guess. I don't view her as "some chick who really knows her hoops" but I view he as a completely equal or mostly superior to the men in her position. She tells me more than some overhyped, sensationalistic ex coach or player.

Wow. First thread I've ever seen where everyone is in agreement.

I rarely ever notice the announcers unless they're very very good, or very very bad. Doris Burke is excellent.

She is probably universally the best in the business right now depending on how you feel about Jim Spanarkel (who is still a total pro).

She legitimately called JRob's steal as it happened.

Just compare her to a lot of the jokes on ESPN when it comes to preparation.

My top Doris Burke moment was when she was announcing the Rutgers/St Johns BET game where Higgins and Burr walked off the court with time still remaining and never returned. She just couldn't believe that could happen and not have the refs finish the game.

Anytime I hear the name Doris I think of Doris the Finkasaurus from the Flintstones. Anyone else remember that episode? :)

Tico what happened to all your posts? Did you get banned and have to create a new account? Plus you hardly even come on here anymore. Why?

I already commented about how good she is but her announcing partner ( I think Sean McDonough ) is really good too. They are a team I could listen to all the time. Her partner has just enough flair that he wakes you up when something big just happened but doesn't make himself the TV show. They are college basketball perfection in my opinion. Doris has earned her reputation in a very natural way. In many regards, I think of her being an NBA expert and when she does college, it comes with a bit of "authority" at least in my mind.

This is a big point for me. Burke doesn't make the broadcast about her. I don't mind a bit of schtick, but guys like Vitale make the whole game about them.

Vitale will probably be "room temperature" soon so Duke ( as he says Dukies) will have to find anther personal team announcer.

Who did the halftime interview of JD.It was pretty good....her hair makes Lady Gaga shirk in fear. That was a lot of mane she carried. Must take a long time to work on.

You mean you don't like those Bojangles ACC doofuses who did the VaTech game?

They were cracking me up at the beginning of the game complaining about the clocks. McDonough's quips and sarcasm were actually pretty funny.
