In what was really a devastating loss for our NCAA hopes on that we went from a lock with an 8 point lead and the ball with 8:30 left to fighting for our lives, needing to go 2-1 against VT, GT, and either FSU, VT, or GT in DC (assuming Duke loss), I'm not that upset because I saw a team play hard, compete, and looked liked it cared to play defense.

Look, Louisville is a lot better than us. I take back anything I said about them earlier in the season. They may lack that dynamic scoring punch but they are excellent defensively, have very good inside scoring, and great walk-on shooter (tongue-im-cheek). I am convinced they would beat us 10 times out of 10. Pitino lost his whole team from last year and just reloaded. He lost what seems like half the team this year (well, not really, just 3 guys) and brings in Deng Adel who I never heard of before Saturday and he's playing like he's all-ACC. Pitino has talent, no doubt about that. But that said, even though we were going up a team with much better players, we were right there and had a chance to punch our ticket......and that was because of the great effort we gave.

The Pete has become a very tough place to win......for us.....but though I do not predict it, if this team can continue to play hard, compete, and outrebound people, maybe we punch our ticket on Sunday and we relieve ourselves of some early March stress.

It is so sad how we have gone from a very high seed every year to HOPING we can beat Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech just to get in the tournament

I guarantee there will be multiple moments... even some in the second half.... where Pitt is ahead, tied, or within 4 points and with all the momentum.

What happens in those moments will be the key. The likely things to happen will be a bad turnover by Artis, an ill-advised shot by Young, or Jeter leaving someone open for a three that kills our momentum.

But maybe, just maybe, the key moment will be a charge by Allen... a 4th foul on Plumlee as Luther makes an and-one.

I just hope that Jamie plays the hot hand...whoever it is... at those key moments and doesn't put him on the bench because of some predetermined substitution pattern.

I dont think people realize that there is no difference in talent between Pitt, GT, and VT. None. GT is 3 wins away from "Last 4 In/First Four Out" and VT can possiy go 10-8. Those are 50/50 games on every sense.

Yea, that is what I am thinking. Pitt cant go winless at the Pete against good teams. Even the 5-13 team beat Gtown and last year we beat UNC. One game, we have to play lights out. Duke doesnt play D so maybe we can win 84-80. If not, scheduling may become easier for Scott Barnea, who again claimed the other day no one wants to play is because of our record at The Pete......which is below .500 against NCAAT teams the last 5 years.

The worst type of fans are those that constantly question coaching personnel moves. It's like when a replief pitcher comes in and let's up a homerun, and fans meltdown, but the 20 other times he comes in and gets an out there isn't a peep.

We were never expected to win national championship, sweet sixteen, elite eight, final four, ACC championship, be in the tournament or by some to have as good a season as we have. (Izzo, Calipari, and Bill Self).
