Because Louisville was much better tonight, and for most of the game I felt like Pitt was banging its head against the wall tonight on offense, and not one of Jamie's finer games.

That being said, sometimes there are just games on the schedule that are much harder to win due to the schedule. This was one of them.

You see this all the time in the ACC so far, usually its a team coming off of a loss playing a game at home. GT beats UVA at home after starting 0-2 in the league. ND beats GT after losing to Pitt at home. I seriously wonder what the win% is of teams playing at home after a loss, I would guarantee its higher than regular win %. I also think mentally Pitt would have been more into this game if we had lost to ND, as strange as that sounds. When UofL lost that game to Clemson, I knew we were in trouble.

So, Pitt starts a tough road trip, in two venues that have been houses of horrors for us, wins the first game in a nail biter, I just don't think we were up for this one at all. After UofL punched us a couple times in the mouth early in the first half, you could just see that mentally we were not in it. Artis just checked out early. Sterling Smith not even looking for his shot. Sheldon Jeter just on another planet. Young trying the same thing over and over...

But, I'm not really worried. There are just games like this during the season, granted they aren't usually this bad, but it happens. We lose one of the next two at home...then I'll worry.

I've never really thought this was a great team, but I do think depending on matchups they could make the Sweet 16.

Moving forward, we just won't win if James Robinson plays this bad. Part of the reason he played so bad was that our shooting guards weren't even looking to score, and our offense consisted of very contested drives to the hoop.

Forget about this one and win these two home games. 5-1 start in the league, I don't care who we've beaten, is excellent, and it should happen.

Spot on. Needed our senior pg to step up and he proved that against quicker guard play he is pretty much useless.

That's not exactly fair, only because I think virtually EVERY guard James plays against is quicker than him. If I were Dixon, I would have had Artis bring up the ball more, I think JRob just gets worn down in these games. I thought Damon Wilson actually looked ok out there.

We often do...
But against the ul press that would have been nuts.

Would have been less perturbed about a loss tonight had we played decent ball . We were just totally inept on offense and played soft. Nothing good about our play tonight. Don't feel like we competed. No excuse for that.

I know this is basically a conspiracy theory, but when I saw the Clemson game, how it was called, with Clemson shooting 44 free throws, and then this game at the Yum, I knew we were in trouble. You know there was discussion among the refs (I won't say Pitino was involved in an improper way, but I'm sure he had some words with them) prior to the game about letting them play. No way they were going to call that many fouls again, even if UL committed them. Played right into ULs hands and definitely not our style of play anymore.

As soon as pitino talked about this being the best coaches Pitt team he's faced and his team has to be much better...
I knew it was over.

He's taken 3 different programs to final fours because he's a master motivator and a helluva coach.

....and owns Jamie

Yea, I wasnt the least bit upset. I wanted to stand up and applaud Louisville's D. Just unbelievable. It was 80% them. 20% us.

Beat BC and NC State, 2 winless teams and split 2 road contests in the southland and we are 6-2 coming home for the Virginias. Cant expect any better than that and it can be done.
