Let's talk some Pitt/Notre Dame history. The Irish are Pitt's 4th most common opponent of all-time. 70 games overall with Notre Dame leading the series 48-21-1. The series dates back to 1909, a 6-0 ND win.

What was the most exciting Pitt win over Notre Dame in recent memory?
A) 1999, Last game at Pitt Stadium. Great game, national TV, memorable night.
B) 2004, Tyler Palko was really proud of his team after throwing 5 touchdown passes
C) 2008, 4OT longest game ever in Notre Dame Stadium. LeSean McCoy was awesome that day
D) 2009, Pitt was a top 10 team playing on national TV. Dion Lewis and Jon Baldwin made some unbelievable plays, probably closer than it should have been.

What was the most heartbreaking loss?
A) 2003 - The team with Fitz was preseason top 10. Obviously a loss to Toledo tempered expectations, but they bounced back and beat A&M and Pitt was No. 15 in this game before losing to the Irish
B) 2005 - College Gameday in town, Wannstedt's debut, preseason top 25....very deflating loss
C) 2012 - Winning most of the game, some questionable calls, lost in Triple OT
D) 2018 - Pitt was winning most of the game. Ffrench returned the second half kickoff for a TD, looked like they were going to do it, then couldn't hold on.
