I think we are not far from being a consideration for the NCAA tournament. Last night, Capel said we played 30 minutes of beautiful basketball, and 10 minutes of tired basketball. So why was that? Answer: Our depth. The only ones on the bench that produce are Sibande and Jorge Diaz Graham. Your depth needs to be 10. WHATEVER is wrong with Hugley, and not playing, it ultimately weakens the bench, as Fedarico Fedarico has to start. With one more quality bench player, we should predict the NIT tournament, which is far better than anything we have seen since Dixon went to TCU.

Yeah. Would be nice to be deeper with guys that can play without much drop off.

Really have to give a lot of credit to J D-G. 18 good minutes. Didn’t allow Edwards to dominate him on the offensive end. Contributed nine points, five rebounds (3 ORB’s)and a blocked shot.

We have a long way to go for consideration for any post season tournament. Let's wait until the beginning of February before even starting that discussion. A lot of games still to be played. And we have 2 tough ones next. Even if we split those or somehow win both, it's premature to think post season. At that point, it will just be fun to watch.

Premature? Yup I agree,
but 2 wins away against
favored teams gets some
on here thinking of post
season. That's only natural
for fans/posters. This sure
as hell beats the last few
years. Enjoy it while it
lasts!

Maybe we were tired but I think it had more to do with the fact that we stopped playing offense. It could be we did get to tired to keep the ball movement that we had. I tend to think that we thought we had enough points to take the air out of the ball. Many times in the last 7 minutes or so we broke the press, but did not attack. Instead we just kept it out top and didn't execute any offense, forcing us to take bad shots late or turn it over. I think it would be nice to have more depth, but I think the ending had more to do with us taking our foot off the pedal as opposed to actually running out of gas.

A key moment was when
the lead shrunk to 7 and
Diaz made an ill advised
pass instead of kicking it
outside and let the guards
milk the clock. That TO
got Cuse right back in it,
when they should have
been forced to foul. He'll
learn from that and I'm
sure Capel will be working
on that and what and how
we handled the last
several minutes. It sure as
hell beats the alternative.

That is FACTUAL, and indeed DID happen. Maybe it was both beeing tired, and not playing offense, just trying to kill the clock

I disagree. The guards were totally gassed. Should have played Nike more. Plus losing Fede really hurt too. They got stagnant for sure. If was a confluence of factors, but fatigue definitely played a big role.

Let's face it, In retrospect
we all have 20-20 hindsight
vision (myself included). We
didn't need both Diaz and
Hinson on the floor those
last few/several minutes.
Hinson and four guards
could have handled the ball.
When they fouled us, bring
Diaz back in for the height
and the rebounding as we go
on back D. Get Sibande back in
when we go back to offense.
We didn't need Diaz with the
ball making that risky pass
with little time on the clock,
and our being up by 7. He's
way too green for that type
of situation. He's getting
there though. I like his
progress.
