When the season began, I thought we had a decent chance at 8-9 win season. I predicted we would lose to PSU, UCF, Virginia and possibly VT. After beating UCF and watching our defense, my expectations went up to 9-10 wins. So, what happened?

· We are an undisciplined team: On more than one occasion this year we got into pregame jawing sessions with the opposition. The focus before the game is the game itself. We also had too many bad penalties at the worst times. Personal fouls, holding, false starts, etc… This is on the coaches.

· We never got better as the season progressed: The same mistakes we made in the beginning of the season is the same we were making at the end of the season. The team never seems to get better as the season progresses. This is again on the coaches.

· There’s been a lack of balance on offense this year: There is no way Pickett should be throwing 30 – 40 times a game. He’s not Dan Marino. Whether it is by necessity or not, this should be addressed. We need to develop a better running game. The running game was very inconsistent all year. My feeling is that the OL is not developing and a lack of talent needs to be upgraded.

· Dropped too many passes – We lead the nation in dropped passes. Dropping passes breaks the rhythm of the offense and makes it twice as hard on the QB. This is on the players. Focus and catch the ball before you try and make a football move

My biggest beef with my fellow Pitt fans is this fixation with blaming the QB for everything. You are not looking at the big picture. He is only a small problem… If we replaced Pickett the bigger problems we’ve had this this season would still exist.

In my opinion, this season is a failure. This is year 5 and we have yet to be ranked under Narduzzi or to win a bowl game. That’s not acceptable. We have not progressed as the season went on and that has been a recurring theme. Not saying we should fire him. I believe this incoming recruiting class will have some badly needed playmakers on offense. However, the other short comings need to be address by him and FAST.

You thought we had a decent shot at 8-9 wins and then expected to get to 9-10 wins after beating UCF. WHY?????? Why in god's name would you start any Pitt season expecting 8 or 9 wins? And then raise your expectation to 9-10 wins? Are you a slow learner? This is Pitt.

Agree the pre-game nonsense has to stop. Mac Brown told his team to expect it. Why? Pitt is not the 1984 Canes because they can't back up their thug mentality on the field. Noticed GaTech plays with a new edge this year compared to Paul's teams. It gets you nowhere. Discipline gets you farther.
