The list will be quite extensive.

USC
South Carolina
Miami
Maryland
Rutgers
Possibly UVa
Possibly Va Tech
Iowa State
Illinois
and.......Texas??

That is quite a list. And oh please, this was just a statement on the potential and definite coaching openings, not a referendum on other program's interest in Pat Narduzzi.

Not Texas....And hopefully Southern California stays in house...

But that is a big list which will likely grow

Gonna be interesting to see what happens at Southern Cal. Night and day their team now compared to a few weeks ago under Sarkisian. They may have to seriously consider keeping their interim coach as the head guy going into next year. It is USC though, they could probably pick just about anybody they want.

Just curious also if I missed something. Why Va. Tech on the list? Talks of Beamer retiring?

I would add Temple, Memphis and Toledo to that list. Purdue possibly as well. USC may keep the guy they have now.

Agree with everything there. I'd say Fuente from Memphis is going to take a better job this offseason, and Rhule from Temple either this offseason or next.

As long as they continue to improve, don't be surprised if Illinois keeps their interim.

Just so you should know, Coach Narduzzi's name has already been tossed out there on the Miami board.
Lol. The U is not the U anymore. Don't wanna speak for Narduzzi but I must say, other than the weather, I see nothing they have to offer. That's a program that needs to go into serious rebuild mode.

Temple loses 6 starters on defense, so Rhule's stock will likely be his highest after this season.

Zero percent chance Narduzzi would go to Miami.

USC wants a splash hire. Narduzzi would not be that for their Alum.

I don't think Narduzzi is going anywhere anytime soon. He has work to do here to establish his head coaching credentials, and even then I tend to think he is here for the long haul. He is a Pittsburgh kind of guy, not a Miami or SC kind of guy.

I can't see Rhule succeeding at a high level job right now, maybe after 2-3 more season at Temple.

Good post for discussion and agree with you!

USC-
Haden had a Stroke Type setback but he will choose the next coach. The Interim Coach displayed some great coaching yesterday and even against ND, but we shall see? The Alumni are delighted right now and USC is still in the Conference Hunt, they win it and they may keep the Interim Coach?

South Carolina
They will be looking far and hard for the right coach because they have devoted Fans and Boosters. They will go after anyone and everyone even in SEC, NFL and pay him what he wants.

Miami
Under Donna Shalala she has become the Steve Pederson of Miami. Few want to work there in College Football. It is Grand opportunity but she wants another Barry Alvarez and that is hard to find and he refused her many times and too old now? It will be another hit and miss selection. Wannstedt could become a Candidate? Memphis coach could be perfect fit but will he be invited or take it?

Maryland
No one is as dumb as the President of Maryland and the bad news he thinks he is smart? They have no idea whom to choose and few will want that job?

Rutgers:
Scandals at Rutgers continue and they are happy they are in the big ten, but they really do need to bring back Schiano! It is Mine Field for Coaches right now in all Sports! Yet, it could become great if they select the right candidate but they will mess it up?

Possibly UVa:
I would give London another year, he has recruited well enough to hurt Vt program in wins, and he has the played the toughest OOC Schedule for 5 years now, and he just barely missed 6 games! If they do get rid of him, they may hire Golden from Miami, and he was there DC for years! Or go for Ruhle at Temple!

Possibly Va Tech:
They are now planning a transition from Beamer to someone else and Beamer us involved too? They will go after a Beamer type from a lesser Non-Power Program whether it is this or next year is the only guess?

Iowa State
They love him despite losing and they will find it hard to fire him? He keeps beating Ferentz but that is growing old with loding seasons. Finding some one good will be tough too!

Illinois:
Interim coach is under consideration depending on the season? Tough selection but I would grab NW Fitzgearald but I don't think he will leave NW! Ohio State OC that is now the Houston coach could be the leading Candidate if i were them or the Memphis coach?

Texas??
I think it depends on the New AD but I think Strong gets another year for just out coaching Stoops, and barely beating OU!

WVU:
You forgot WVU! Unless he beats TCU this week and that can happen, I think he is Texas Toast! The Houston and Memphis will be mentioned, or CoachRod could comeback!

UNC
May be on NCAA Probation soon and he may leave soon afterwards! Most of the other ACC will remain the same.

Vanderbilt & Purdue could pull the trigger as well!

Other Opening will occur if they lose their Coaches like Missy State, Houston, Temple, Memphis, NW, and others!

That is quite a list. And oh please, this was just a statement on the potential and definite coaching openings, not a referendum on other program's interest in Pat Narduzzi.
Here is what I expect, Narduzzi name will come up if he beats UNC, ND, Duke, ULou, and Miami or at least 3 of them! It is my opinion, Coach Narduzzi will not remain silent like Chryst did after the Wisky Job came open in his first year and he remained silent for weeks?
Coach Narduzzi is committed to rebuilding the Pitt Program and will stay by his Character with his Players and will announce he is not going to be a candidate and will not accept any Coaching position as his name comes up, he will do that is Hours and Days, not Weeks? Coach Pat is a very special person not just a Special Coach. Even if the MSU job came open, I don't think Coach Pat would go back to MSU? I will be surprised if I am wrong on this opinion!

After another uninspiring season in Blacksburg, I think Beamer will be strongly encouraged to exit gracefully and retire. Their clock (mis)management at the end of regulation yesterday ought to be grounds enough to part ways.

Can't believe Arizona State isn't mentioned; Graham is obviously the leading candidate for any high profile opening.
Graham has his Publicity Agent putting out his name as we speak as he marches on to his own Murphy Law Demise. Character is not growing in him or his family. Although, to be fair, he like many other coaches could not work under or with Pederson's Poison and got out before he got as soon as he could, but mishandled his departure with his Players!

It will be a very settle and gentle nudge but he will still determine when and they owe it to him! I agree with all your points but UVA taking some key recruits from him, really hurt his recruiting and missing those 2 to 5 players that could win 10+ games. Beamer could be named Athletic Director as well if they want to keep him like Barry Alvarez did at Wisky. I would do that if I was the VT President and Beamer wants to be involved?

Graham is wilting away out in the desert. He fell apart last week against an overrated Utah and as he starts to get his own players the bloom on the rise is starting to shrink. If he stays at ASU he's not winning any championships anytime soon.

I don't think so, either.

Miami wants a coach who is either a Cane or someone who "gets" the "U". Golden was a bad fit for that program. He likely would have had more success at a place like PSU or Pitt. He's not "Florida".

The key is do they go for a guy like Fuente or a "splash"? I don't think they are anywhere near what they used to be, but could still likely pull someone in.

Very delusional fan base. Even was mentioned on ESPN last night. They are a long ways away from competing for championships.
Maybe not. 7 of the seniors on last year's Miami team made the NFL this year. The Canes ended the season 6-7. Miami has more talent than has been evidenced in Ws since about Coker's 3rd year. The right coach at Miami could win rather quickly and rebuild the juggernaut.

If I were Miami AD, the guy I'd want is Justin Fuente. I'd look closely at Tom Herman and Chad Morris. I'd want to explore SC Interim Clay Helton, and to keep peace with the fan base, I'd make certain to talk to Butch Davis.

I assume Bud Foster has stayed at VT all these years with the expectation that Beamer will pass the torch to him-but the admin might want to start fresh.

Justin Fuente
My first choice and and he will rebuild Miami in one year? But he will be in demand everywhere too! At both USC's, and if Missy State loses their coach. If USC, Miami miss him, then WVU will be in a battle with Missy State if Missy State coach leaves for another program. Missy State Coach would also be a great get for Miami! But will Donna Shalala Ok him?

Shalala is now retired. The new President, Frenk, is an unknown in terms of hiring coaches.

The idea that Al Golden is the problem at Miami misses the point

I dont know if he can coach or not......but the Miami program is dying a slow death every Saturday.....when all those big time prospects in S FLa go to a game 25 miles from campus and see 17,500 to 25,000 in the seats.

Slowly.....painfully. The Miami program will NEVER again be what it was.

The smartest thing they can do (and its not even a real game changer)....is move their games to Marlins Stadium.

And a guy Like Justin Fuente will likely pass on the Miami job

I think you guys are way off on the Canes. That is a program where you can recruit Top 10 talent every year and not have to travel too far from home to do it. The right coach can win there in a hurry. The ACC Coastal should be child's play for the Canes.

I would love to see Lane Kiffin at Miami. They need a solid coach that is a great recruiter, can bring back the swag, and that doesn't give a flip about being hated. It would be a perfect fit, imo.
