Average at best on defense, and that's being generous.
Not sure what his upside is, because he's not a big or quick leaper.

Offense is all that matters in the NBA. He has great low post moves, like a Kevin McHale. Most of the big men drafted these days are those explosive leapers and athletes, but they're shitty basketball players. This guy will score a ton in the NBA.

These top notch players don't know how to spell defense when they get to college and don't stick around long enough to learn it.
They are generally spoiled AAU offense only machines when they are coming up.

Seems like those same players developed a pretty good grasp of D at Kentucky. And I don't think they owe anyone any apologies for being gifted offensive players.
