Okay, I can admit I was totally wrong about Andy Enfield

I loved the fun and gun offense at Florida Gulf Coast, especially at a time when our offense was pretty boring.

Yes I even thought Enfield would bring that same excitement to USC and turn the program around.

Nope, no more. Team had a 22 POINT LEAD in the 2nd half with 10 minutes left on the road against Washington and LOST!!

That did it for me - I can admit it, the guy was a 2 weekend wonder and nothing more.

And your doing the same thing this week.

Hate Tomlin and you were bitching about something else last week.

This is what you do.

Just take it easy and stop over reacting.

And he hates James Robinson... Until proven wrong .
And doubted Artis at the start of this season.
Like i said he's the logical fallacy poster boy.

I don't "hate" Tomlin at all - just don't think he is a great coach. Steelers have underachieved with him most years, been to only 2 playoff games in 5 years and lost both. Plus continual losses to bad teams. Not wanting Tomlin to be the Steelers coach has nothing to do with this thread, as much as you and Souf might try to intertwine the two.

Total nonsense. The Steelers have been rebuilding their team on the run. Those years they were 8-8 was because they weren't that good. They had to replace a lot of veteran players. There are still a few holes that need to be filled, but the rebuild is nearly done. Tomlin would have a job tomorrow if the Steelers fired him.

Colbert has been a bigger issue than Tomlin, IMO. Their cap was a mess for several years, way too much loyalty towards older players. Steelers always used to excel at getting rid of a guy one year too early as opposed to one year too late -- the failure to continue that falls on Colbert to me.

I'm not quiet ready to throw the towel on Andy. The whole USC athletic department is a real mess from my readings lately.

He will be fine.....those trips to the NW have always been trouble teams from LA and they went 1-1.

Calling for him to be a HC IN a power conference wasn't the problem....it was wanting him at Pitt.

Fun question-name the last basketball coach to have any real success at USC.

Yeah--I couldn't either.

For whatever reason-that may or may not have a lot do with being in UCLA's shadow for 50 years--USC is a very hard place to win. Nobody has been able to pull it off. I suspect Enfield is just the next victim.

Tim Floyd certainly crooked, but has always been a pretty good coach. Won a PAC title at USC in 2009.

Agreed, USC looks to be improved this year. Any coach that can get Katin Reinhardt to buy into a team first philosophy can't be all bad.

So you got all excited about this guy based on a couple of NCAA tournament games, now you're writing him off because of what his new team did in one game?

Think about that for a minute....

Kevin O'Neil was the last coach I can remember before Tim Floyd that did anything. I'm showing my age I believe Bob Boyd was the SC coach during Wooden days with Paul Westphall but then only one team from a conference went to the NCAA and they finished second a few times.

O'Neill was after Floyd, and he didn't do $hit. Got into a fight with an AZ booster at the Pac 10 tourney, and got himself fired after a couple of disappointing seasons. As an aside, O'Neill is a legendary jagoff. The real mystery is how the guy kept getting college and pro jobs as long as he did.

Thanks for the correction your right about O'Neill he must have run in the right circles he keeps getting jobs and he hasn't demonstrated he deserved any of them.

The positions of USC, and UCLA in hoops is the exact opposite of what they are in football. UCLA is usually decent in football, but they can never escape the huge shadow cast by the Trojans. In hoops, USC will always be the second team in LA. Enfield is there to build his resume. It's a pleasant place to be while he does that, but if he wins there, he'll be off to whatever heavyweight has an opening.

Not just that game, been 3 years now and his teams have not been any good. I guess that 22 point lead being blown added to that. I hope he does well but I am not nearly as optimistic as I was with him.

Yeah maybe you jumped the gun a little on this one. Just got finished sweeping the Arizona schools.

The Pac12 is fun to watch. It's just a whole bunch of mediocrity and unpredictability. Lots of parity in that league.

That league is going to be a mess come selection sunday. They have a lot of teams with pretty high RPIs. I don't think they have a top 20 team in that league right now, but they don't really have any terrible teams either.

Gonna be a lot of teams in that league between 11-7 and 8-10. 12 wins might win the league, I'd guess 13 almost certainly will.

Probably 6 or so teams make the field, but I have no clue who they will be right now.

Not trying to be a wise guy, but who was Pitt's last top 10 win at home? I know they had Cuse beat two years ago before the miracle shot, but I honestly can't remember. I don't believe UNC was top 10 last year.

Ok, so are we back to fire Dixon and hire Enfield?

Absolutely not. Just giving the guy a little sh*t for being square enough to originally jump all over the Enfield bandwagon then so abruptly leap off when anyone who has watched USC this year can see they are vastly improved.

I still don't think they make the tournament this season, but the program appears to be headed in the right direction.

Ironically the kind of offense Pitt has now is what I wanted Enfield to bring here.

Hope USC though has a good year cause they have been bad for a few years now. Looking at them now they should make the tournament. Beating #7 Arizona is a huge resume booster for them.

They are a solid squad this year and it would not be surprising at all for them to make the tournament.

Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that Enfield's team goes on a hot streak that took them to 15-3 immediately after Poker gave up on him?

Outside Arizona (who I know they beat but it took them 4OT in their own gym), I think they are the best team in the Pac-12. Bad loss for UCLA last night, they have some work to do to make the NCAA's.

As some smart and handsome said
Perhaps, since you're older than me...
And apparently a poker player,
You should start understanding sample sizes, probabilities, and how to make logical inferences rather than being the text book example of recency bias???
