1-1 / 2-0 I think we get sent to NYC for Pinestripe bowl vs Big10 team. Another possibility would be vs Washington St/Zona/Oregon in the Sun Bowl.
1-1 possibly end up in Nashville for Music City bowl. 0-2 gotta believe we would get navy in military bowl in Annapolis.
VT and Beamer throw a wrench into things since it's his last go a 6-6 VT team will be in high demand and could take the Belk bowl in Charlotte if they finish top 6 ACC, thus bumping everyone down one
Sigh, I know but 9-3 and top 20(which we will be if we win the last 2) and getting stuck in a crappy bowl just isn't right.Well, until Pitt fans learn to travel better, Pitt will be in danger of being selected behind teams with 3 more losses and superior traveling reputations like VT. NC State and Louisville could be selected over Pitt as well, even if we beat the Cards on Saturday.
All we can do is win and give ourselves as high a profile (ranking) as possible.
I think Pitt, so long as they win one more game, will be in the Pinstripe versus a Big 10 team (Indiana, Minnesota) or in El Paso versus Wazzou or Arizona. Absolute best case scenario for Pitt is probably the Taxslayer (gator) bowl vs SEC, but we would need ND, Clemson, and FSU to win out.Sigh, I know but 9-3 and top 20(which we will be if we win the last 2) and getting stuck in a crappy bowl just isn't right.
So if those 3 teams win out(which seems like a strong possibility imo) and Pitt wins out, will Pitt really get an invite to the Gator Bowl?? That would be awesome but sounds too good to be true.I think Pitt, so long as they win one more game, will be in the Pinstripe versus a Big 10 team (Indiana, Minnesota) or in El Paso versus Wazzou or Arizona. Agree that that's a pretty strong possibility. Of those three teams, FSU is the only one I can really see possibly having a game where they just play awful out of nowhere. I think Clemson and Notre Dame are way too good to lose during these last couple weeks, although ND does play Stanford, but I still think ND is a much better team then them.So if those 3 teams win out(which seems like a strong possibility imo) and Pitt wins out, will Pitt really get an invite to the Gator Bowl?? I also think if Va. Tech is eligible, it'd make sense to just send them to Annapolis pretty much automatically. I don't care who is coaching, that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of moving every team down to get a 6-6 team in a good bowl game. Just put them in Annapolis which is close to Virginia, sell a lot of tickets, get a lot of Tech fans there for Beamer's last game.

Which is a reality, but TRULY a disgrace1-1 / 2-0 I think we get sent to NYC for Pinestripe bowl vs Big10 team. Another possibility would be vs Washington St/Zona/Oregon in the Sun Bowl.

More proof college football is a fake ass sport that has nothing to do with the results n the field.VT and Beamer throw a wrench into things since it's his last go a 6-6 VT team will be in high demand and could take the Belk bowl in Charlotte if they finish top 6 ACC, thus bumping everyone down one
Yup I know it's true, but that doesn't make it a reasonable option. You might as well tell a really small school they have no chance at going to a bowl. They could allow the bowls to invite teams still, but you have to meet a certain criteria to get invited to that bowl. Every 5 years or so they can make a new criteria for that bowl. I know they basically have something like the criteria now, but this could also set a limit on how "bad" of a team can get into certain bowls. It may sound dumb, but it happens. Check out last year's Taxslayer (Gator) Bowl. They had a 6-6 Iowa team against a 7-5 Tennessee. Who travels the best and spends the most money are a huge part of the selection/negotiation process.
