... just like UPitt'89 said would happen, as we got closer to selection Sunday, we slid of the 11 line and onto the 10 just like every other bracketologist.

Still, can anyone explain to me just how he could make the changes he did overnight. I saw him talk about his updated bracket around midnight? At the time, we were next to last out, and Vandy was ahead of us. This included the games of the night.

So in the next 10 hours, when no one has played, he moves us into the last four byes and moves Vandy out altogether.

I'm done with him. Whirly and UPitt'89 here on this board are far more reliable.

Lunardi is bi-polar when it comes to his selections.

Geezz -- just realized Pres started a thead saying just about this same things. My bad.

Do you think he is maybe overreacting to every result of every game. For example, we get dinged by Carolina handling us. Then last night, after UNC emasculated ND from the opening tip on. our loss looks less severe, especially because we were even with them for 25 minutes or so. I don't know.

Who knows is right.

And he should never ever be reacting to the severity of any loss.

Not trying to make excuses for him but this time of year he is in high demand between tv, net, and radio and probably never gets the time to sit back and crunch his numbers. Overnight, he probably did. Still leaves us scratching our heads though.

If he says "hey, everything is pretty much exactly the same as when I did this eight hours ago" then there is no reason for him to get any air time on television and there is no reason for people to visit the web site. SOMETHING has to be different all the time, or he's not doing his job. Which at this point is not to make the best bracket possible, it's to drive attention and web hits.

Tomorrow afternoon his job will be to make the best bracket possible. Right now? Not so much.

And he needs things to happen and teams to move, which means setting up moves and updates. Even if he could accurately predict things, setting it and forgetting it is boring.

It's the same phenomenon that turns every rain storm into an event. Gotta push the buzz level up.

I think you correctly described Lunardi.............as well as Vince McMahon.........

Both i think you may agree.....are circus clowns.

Exactly my point.

That, and I'm sure he talks to members of the selection committee...Obviously not detailed enough to perfectly predict the field, but detailed enough that maybe his perceptions are put in check.

I wish there was a bracket matrix like site that ranked the brackets that were done on say March 1.

I think he's a wig wearing hump who craves attention.

Bingo. He seems to get off to the idea of people tuning in to see his updates and to get his latest brackets. He loves the attention and draws it out as long as he can till after Sunday when he becomes just another ordinary Joe for another year.

Palm has had Pitt safely in the field while Lunardi has had them on the brink of missing it. Palm has had Pitt as an 8/9 seed for a while now while Joey brackets has had Pitt anywhere from 9 to 11 of late.

Personally I think Pitt is closer to 8/9 than 10/11 but that's just me. It's all about the match up anyways.

A total tool
Has us 67 this am and now 62 and trending up

This is exactly why the NCAA should just come up with a metric to determine who gets at-large bids. They do this in football, and we do not have 10 different "experts" trying to predict who will make it into the playoff. I realize that there is no perfect rating system, but having a system in place that everyone at least knows is being used by the committee would put all of these bracketologists out of business and they could spend their time doing something useful.
