If we do get a commitment from Wheeler, I think that has the potential to help sway Zack Gilbert towards Pitt. There are 2 reasons that I believe this may be the case.
From the article on ZG, I get the feeling he wants to play end, not the interior. Having a solid option on the interior will increase the chances that Gilbert can play end at Pitt.
It is no fun to be a good d-lineman on a weak defensive line. If Wheeler commits, ZG will at least have the potential to have another solid lineman alongside him for years to come at Pitt.
