Well, once again, we're ready for a new season to kick off with yet another new coach. I can honestly say that I am more optimistic and pumped up about the program now then I have been in over 25 years. I really believe that Narduzzi is the right guy for this program. He certainly has created a lot of buzz around town and with the media. We finally have an AD who is not a complete numb nuts (in fact, he may turn out to be very good). We have a new Chancellor who truly seems to recognize the PR value that a winning football program brings and is willing to allocate the resources necessary to enable success. In short, the pieces finally seem to be falling into place for a rebirth of Pitt football.
All that said, lurking in the back of my mind is the ever present specter of another *&it the bed home opener performance. I honestly don't care if we win by one in OT....Just win... please don't throw cold water on the fan base yet another time. I know if's only Youngstown State, but this game is HUGE. Win, and we keep the momentum going and give the fans hope for the future. Lose and we're back to "Same Old Pitt" and I'm getting too old for SOP.
