Only 2 deaths from Steelers/Cowboys game

But that doesn't have to be "life." Just ban the stuff.
Why make people like you happy.
Responsible people who are the majority of people who like it!
Maybe we should ban you "fringe" people.
In 2015 38k people were killed and 4.4 million injured in auto accidents.
There's atleast as many drinkers of alcohol as drivers in the US.
Should we ban autos? Get busy numb n-ts!
I doubt I'd like your view of life but I do like mine!
Let the beer flow!
Drink Responsibly!

Drink responsibly?? Easy to say. More difficult to do.

People go to a ball game. Usually emotions run high. That's a bad combination for some beer drinkers.

wish I got into weed when I was younger, just cant do it. don't like to smoke anything, way to scared to do needles, not into hallucinations either.. Too poor to get into Coke on a regular basis.. Too young, missed the Quaalude age.. beer it is..
Well i've been taking cannabis oil for years now to fight my MS symptoms and to help fight getting colon cancer cause i have a very high chance of getting it. Yea smoking isn't my favorite either. Edibles much better.

You have to remember who we're talking about here. These are Steeler fans. Many are WVU fans and they're drunks by nature and lack any personal responsibility for their behavior. The rest of them are just drunken bums that are Steeler fans and use the games as excuses to get drunk again. It's one of the reasons that I am not a Steelers fan. I can't stand the fanbase. The other reasons I'm not a Steelers fan have to do with my dislike of pro sports and the pussies who play the game.

Easy fix. Give everyone entering stadium a breathalyzer test. If you're legally drunk, you don't get in.
if that happened at every college and professional sporting venue, that would limit every sporting event I've ever been to since 1993 with the exception of one Nationals vs Pirates game in 2007.. a terribly boring experience by the way. Sporting events and sobriety do not mix, AT ALL.

It's more of a culture thing with the Steelers and the NFL in general. You're encouraged to go buy your favorite team's gear (at $80 a sweatshirt, or $65 a polo for Jprepper), get shitfaced and defend "your house." And the teams and sponsors are making money off of you from the moment you leave the house.

Do the lots open five hours before kick for Steelers games like they do Pitt?
You are buying $80 sweatshirts? I think those bedazzled ones are for chicks, Corso.

BTW, I prefer buttondowns, not polos.

Beers at games are never the reason there are any issues. I love a beer at games. Dont let bombed fans enter the game. I mean visibly pickled folks. Police are a every gate. Do something.
This. Tickets are already sold. Take their tickets, refuse their entry, and if they are beligerant? Arrest them.

I don't indulge in cannabis, but you don't have to smoke. Many friends who use regularly, and for events like this, use gummies and snack like options, rather than smoking.

what is the "goal" for tailgating in the south and Midwest?
Drink, watch other football, enjoy nice weather, and talk to beautiful women, dressed to impress. People are definitely drinking and many getting drunk, but things are different when the weather is much nicer and the females are much better looking and wearing sundresses and not sweats and an XXL jersey.

understood.. Hey, is it culture or just resources.. Seriously though, lots of land I am assuming, little if any restrictions with lots open/closed, obviously weather plays a part, etc.. The environment for a steeler game or most nfl games are set up for you to get a few limited hours of pounding beers before a game.. Some of these college venues, unlimited land to park the camper, set up grills, games, tables, etc. offer that luxury.. You don't get that at Heinz, you have hard ass parking lot guy telling you to stay in between this space or you're going to get towed..

If you ban tailgating and drinking and ask for sobriety, you might as well tarp 75% of the stadium! you'll be lucky to get 20000 fans.

Lots of big government, big brother people, weighing in on this to
Who appointed you guys as kings, deciders, and rule makers.
If you don't like people who consume alcohol is don't come to the game.
That solves the problem for all of you!
How about the potheads & other drug users why not test them.
How about the people high on prescription drugs why not have a test for that.
How about the mentally ill they can be a problem at times.
How about the bad drivers trying to park their cars in tailgate lots loaded with kids, and other tailgaters.
Lots of fried foods sold at the games that's could be dicey.
So you guys want thins just like you like them well it isn't happening!

I agree with parrothead, you don't want to be around debauchery, excessive inebriation, don't go to steeler games. I used to love going, I was probably one of those people you guys complain about, spent my high school, college and even early/mid 20's being one of those people. That annoys me now so guess what I do? Stay home and watch it on TV. Same with Chesney concerts. Been to a couple in my younger days, drank 100 beers, had a blast. now, that would annoy me so guess where I don't go when Kenny is in Pittsburgh? That's right, the concert. Pretty easy way to avoid this really.

PItt games aren't bad, at all. Actually too family friendly. I like a little mayhem, just not a lot. so I go to a lot of games.. If it ever gets to be like steeler games, I'd actually like that but it won't so I'm safe..

When the mayhem approaches unacceptable levels raise your hand and call security or an usher and allow them to decide and take action.
That's the process and it works for both sides!

nah, no fun. either join in or leave.. NFL games do seem to get an inordinate amount of douchebags though.. That grown man that wants to fight someone because they were born in another city.. I am sure you see it at other sporting events but not nearly as much. Why is the typical NFL fan just an ass clown? cant blame beer solely, nba, ncaa, hockey fans, they all drink too. Been to a lot of pens games, home and away, nothing close. College hoops, college football, don't see that douchebaggedness that nfl games have..

I'm 57 and I go to one, maybe 2 Steelers games per year, I get drunk before the game, and drink a couple more in the stadium, I'm not annoyed at all, I don't really notice "debauchery" IMO, I think I haven't even personally witnessed a single fight in the last 10 years to be honest. What exactly is happening that I'm missing that's so bad, unless I'm just drunk too and don't notice. I don't go to games in person to watch the games, I go to have a party and drink. As soon as they ban tailgating and drinking there, I will never go again. It's better to watch on TV if that's all you're going to do there.

im not too far off from you.. If I am not with my kids, I could care less about seeing a bunch of obnoxious people going at it and trust me, I sure as heck am not taking my kids to a steeler game.. I've seen a lot of crap at steeler games, usually harmless stuff though, obscenities, pushing type of crap.. Don't recall too many fistfights, a few in the parking lots but again, these are usually drunken misses, not UFC caliber punches..

I quit going because I miss a ton of the game being there live vs. watching it on tv. The drinking is what makes going fun, pretty much the only part of it that is enjoyable.

I wouldn't take my daughter either, and it's not because of cursing, a kid that's a sophomore in high school has heard cursing enough as it is. LOL. But because she doesn't want to go, she has zero interest in football, paying $100 for a ticket for her is a waste of money. And I agree that watching on TV is way better, that's why I'm not a season ticket kind of guy, I go to something between 1-4 games per year, Steelers and Pitt combined, and the reason is for the tailgate and the socializing with friends I don't see all the time anymore, more than the game. That's why I say it and mean it when I say if they ever ban tailgating and drinking, there's no use ever going again.
