ORU is maybe the best 15 seed I've seen.

They were not overmatched, and no way they're worse than a 12 seed. Their star is p5 quality, and he'll get a look from the NBA.

By the way, if you are looking at what seed they should have gotten remember that Oral Roberts pulled off the rare Dakota Gambit this year, losing to North Dakota and North Dakota State and South Dakota and South Dakota State all in the same season.

I wonder if that's even happened before?

What makes their win even more remarkable is that it’s fair (I think) to say the Summit was slightly down this year and ORU was certainly not the best team in the league. Agree that they did not look overmatched at all.

I’m just amazed we’ve made it this far in the thread without someone lecturing you on how yes, free throws do matter.

Well, Wichita gagging away a game they should have won going away proved that.

What that game "proved" is that if you shoot 16.7% on your threes (on 18 attempts) you are going to have a hard time winning.

Had Wichita made the NCAA average percentage of their foul shots they'd have scored four more points. Had they made the NCAA average percentage of their threes they'd have scored nine more points.

One of those seems a little better than the other.

Free Throws are not free.

The Dakotas finally getting their revenge on the state of Oklahoma.

Watching the game at a bar in Dayton, where I live, the folks there were kind of stunned, but they seemed to be more of OSU football fans. More of a U of Dayton fan base for basketball. But it was fun for me to observe when Ohio State played Dayton in the tourney, some people at the bar wore gear for both teams.

Gonna be fun to see if Oral Roberts can keep it up tomorrow. I don’t know which team’s name got made fun of more yesterday, Colgate or Oral Roberts.

All the Ohio teams root and like each other which is super weird....outside of Cincy/Xavier, Dayton/Xavier.

Ohioans have unbelievable "state pride."

I always felt like ETSU wasn’t a typical 16 when we played them in 2009.
