OT: Arizona - 4 Level 1 charges released

They will get nothing at all for this but a slap, so why are we so worried about following all the rules, you are punished for following rules

At this point isn't it obvious that he cares more about Sean Miller than he does about Pitt?

It's weird, and yet it's obviously true.

If SMF cared at all, even a little bit, about Pitt, he wouldn't care at all about scum like Sean Miller. If that piece of garbage ever became coach at Pitt, there would be a mass exodus of basketball fans. Not that we have that many fans to begin with, but I think Pitt fans for the most part like decency and ethics in their coaches. Miller is the antithesis of that.

This has been public knowledge for several months. It's just the specifics that are thrown out there now for public consumption.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Miller is obviously very well liked at Arizona. This case is different than most in that the President of the University is complicit also. Not to mention, Miller has a contract that pays him 85% of his buyout, even if he is fired with cause.

Miller's contract status is the only reason this is news. Arizona is at a crossroads now, and they are probably going to have to make a decision to extend or part ways in the next few days. If they just sit tight and do nothing, it's going to make recruiting very difficult. If they wanted to clean things up and were concerned about cheating, they would have fired him a long time ago. They don't. They want to return to status quo as soon as possible, and that's exactly what they will do, with or without Sean Miller.

Extend him and get better bag men! They want to win, hell even WVU tires to win , us , well ......

None of these schools are letting go so far... Self, Wade, Miller, Pearl.

It will be interesting to see where this goes.

I find it funny , football related , Miles bangs co eds and it's covered up for years at LSU, they release the blue dress Friday, and Kansas football holds him accountable LMAO, these schools know their hierarchy

I'm not sure what to think of the Les Miles thing. There aren't a lot of details to go on.

These comments by Miles are hilarious...

Everyone knew this was coming including me. This is less than nothing. A 1 year postseason ban and half-season suspension. Pitt should have hired him. We'd be in a much better spot than being picked 14th in the ACC in Year 4. I mean, I see this report as GREAT NEWS, its pretty much exactly what I thought
Pitt should self report future violations and self-impose a post-season ban for this year as punishment. Then go get some recruit$.

You really think he can recruit that way without paying for recruits? He will not last coaching without cheating.
Take that to the bank

Well, considering he paid guys and got basically no penalty, he can just pay guys again. Why not? The NCAA doesnt care. All you get is a 1 year post-season ban and maybe suspended a few games.

Capel's ethical recruiting has yielded more locker room fist-fights than ACC wins.....but hey, as long as we're clean

5 year Show cause minimum..

He is not getting 5 years. LMAO, he will get nothing but more bags from rich alum to pass out next year

This thread is interesting... some interesting AZ booster stories, good thoughts on how bad Sean Miller is... and then a ton of Tom Wilson chatter mixed throughout?

Oh, and SMF fan-boying Sean Miller.

Only he really isn't that bad. He's been to the Elite 8 four times. He made the Sweet 16 three other times. 5 Pac-12 Regular Season Titles and 3 Pac-12 Tourney Titles. 3 A-10 titles and 1 A-10 tourney title. .730 career winning %.
I'd take it.

There is a reason AZ has held on to him for the last 3 years, despite the turmoil. Obviously, his contract is going to force some kind of decision going forward, but if he were a garbage coach, they would have dumped him long before now.

Arizona is the best job on the west coast, they have been cheating their balls off and never been to a F4. JoJo the monkey boy could win there.

What makes you think Pitt will allow it? Look at one time, a long time ago I wanted Miller, but as time has gone on I realized what a fake he is. Sorry, just like those 2 years when the last coach was here, I would stop watching Pitt basketball. There is a dirty slimy feel when I watch Miller coach and hope he loses every game. You can't have 2 sets of rules for coaches. By the way, did you every really think that maybe, just maybe he isn't a good coach?

As far as the Wilson suspension? Pure garbage. I don't care what Rorabaugh said. 7 games is not nearly enough. This guy has done this numerous times in the past. Once you get suspended a few times for the same type of hit, the suspension should increase. What happens if he permanently hurts someone? What will the league do? One day it will happen and then what? Oh we should have been tougher on him will be the statement.

The NFL has taken hits to the head out. I know they still happen, but like the other night, Wilson saw Carlo on the boards and went after him.

I know it was either posted here or on another board, but what has to happen is players go after the other Capital players in retaliation.

I'm just so done with that piece of garbage.

Miller will get a slap , Pitt will play squeaky clean and lose and Zona will be back to the dance much sooner than Capel. Rinse repeat

And Miller has done a lot of winning there. He won at Xavier too.

AZ has only been to 4 Final Fours in the program's history with one measley banner hanging in the McKale Center. Lucky for them, Nazr Mohammed couldn't hit a free throw. It's not UCLA.

Boston would become my second favorite team if they came out next game against Washington with 6 skaters and no goalie to start the game. Point to one guy and line 2 up right in front of him. Then as the puck drops all three Washington forwards get the hockey stick castration and the double teamed player gets mauled. If the goalie gets in it, he gets destroyed too. Turn it into a complete joke until the NHL quits treating player discipline as a complete joke.

Correct. It’s not UCLA. It doesn’t live in an over saturated market with under funding budget. It’s the best job in the PAC12 by far. Just because Miller can’t coach doesn’t change that.

Ah yes, Xavier, a team that notoriously struggled and is under funded as well???? Miller blows dude

Even cheating their ass off, I'd still take Miller's overall results all day, every day.

And for people who say, "well he couldnt win enough at Arizona, what would he do at Pitt?" NC State. We can be NC State. We'd all take NC State at this point.

I'm just defending his overall body of work. I'm not advocating for Pitt to hire him at this point. If he doesn't survive at Zona, he's damaged goods as far as a P5 job. - At least in the short term.

Was Capel damaged goods for getting fired at OU after a pay for play scandal?

The last 2 times Pitt has had to make coaching changes I advocated for Andy Enfield the first time and Eric Musselman the second. Both of those guys seemed relatively attainable to me, neither of their eventual destinations were all that to be honest.

Both of them seem to be doing quite well.

Musselman is doing really well.

Enfield has been respectable. He also has the NCAA cloud hanging over his program though.
