Arizona State is in Tempe Arizona. The Arizona Cardinals are in Glendale, Arizona. Both are suburbs of Phoenix. According to Google Maps, they are 18 miles apart.

So.........last night, Arizona State host a Thursday night college football game against Stanford. It hosts it one half hour after the NFL Cardinals hosts a Thursday Night NFL game against the Broncos.

To me, that is inexcusable. It is one thing if say the Dbacks were in the NL Playoffs and they ended up hosting a game that night. But both of these times/dates were decided last spring.

Don't these two entities (the NCAA and NFL) talk to each other? Use to be the NFL was somewhat respectful of college football and would try not to step on their toes. Afterall, it is a free minor league feeder system they don't have to spend one dime on. But not with the arrogant, more money, more money, more money Goodell. Whatever more we can get, I want to get.

How in the hell was both of these games scheduled for that night? How awful and unfair was it for ASU? That is something I can see happening in Pittsburgh, but at least we share a stadium. It was the smallest crowd of the season for ASU, announced 43,000. The Cardinals don't have exactly the same appeal as say the Steelers in their shared markets, but this was just completely unfair.

Don't these entities talk? Shouldn't someone have picked up the phone and say "hey, one of you two would be advised to move this game?" Yeah, I know the networks control this, but let's face neither ESPN or the NFL Network are falling all over themselves saying "boy we have to get Arizona State or the Arizona Cardinals on a nationally televised game." Just completely ridiculous.
