Excited the Steelers drafted him. I realize he’s not the best pro prospect, but literally 2 days ago I was saying how I’d love to see him as a Steeler. His personality is infectious and it’s apparent in this draft, as it was two years ago, that the Steelers are drafting character guys. And he can play. Good pick.
Well done.

Not sure how that’s a good pick.... what do they need him for? They have a RB. They drafted another one last year in the third round.... so this guy is essentially a kid round pick who is going to never carry the ball?

They’ve felt all along they needed another back. Maybe he shares the load with JC and the NCSU kid remains a 3rd down back. I think it’s a good trio. I like it.

You can find a running back on the streets week 16 who will be a 100 yard back in a good system. Chiefs and packers are prime examples of that
So you tell me who they should have drafted. You are not drafting for a starter in the 4th round. You are addressing backup players and special teamers.

Why do you think that?
Except those guys get cut much less often.

Integrated offensive lineman and people in the blocking scheme is significantly more challenging than integrating a running back.

For the most part every system uses relatively similar schemes for backs. The language may be different, but the roles remain almost identical. Scheming on the offensive line is but more difficult. The language in every system is different and gaining continuity amongst lineman takes time. See Pitt once Jimmy went out.

Id rather them take a project offensive lineman who hopefully doesn’t have to play for a year and can learn from Pouncey, DeCastro, Foster etc.

I honestly have not seen him play even though he has had so many carries. Which come to think of it is the worst thing about him, he might have lost some tread
