OT Duquesne woman’s BB coach Dan Burt

Anyone catch the video of Dan Burt’s presser after their loss to Davidson. We’ve had coaches around these parts and elsewhere accused of throwing players under the bus but none can come anywhere remotely close to this.

Man I’d hate to see the first behind closed doors get together between coach and players after that one. Or coach and AD.

I read Mack’s comments about how bad they played defense and they’d be in for a few more thrashings if they continue to play defense like that, but unless he said a whole lot worse, doesn’t come close to the Burt presser. Burt wasn’t loud or out of control, just a thorough and detailed dissecting of the team and individual player’s performance, effort and attitude.

Maybe you follow the Duquesne men too. If you do how is it that no matter who their coach is, they either run off, are unable to keep or are unable to identify their best players. How they allocate playing time is a major mystery to me.

They were having problems before the Pitt game. They were predicted to win the A10 and yet went under .500 in their non-conference.

The good coaches coach the same things (defense, rebounding, passing). Its about who can get them to do the things necessary to win. Especially the good players. Jamie was able to do this for 15 years except for two players (Young/Artis). When the good players don't buy in, its over. When you coach for a long time its gonna happen.
