They finished ranked in 2018, not two years ago (and I agree, pollsters did not punish them for a weak schedule -- Sagarin ratings said they should have been ranked 28th, not 15th like the AP.) But fwiw went 5-7, 1-10, and 5-7 after that. It's hard to just flip a sort of fluky 10 win season into good recruiting I think. They are playing 10 P5 teams this year, basically pretty standard schedule.It is, though. Look at who Syracuse played two years ago when they finished ranked. In a world where your nobody really cares about who you beat, it doesn't make sense to overextend yourself. It's just garbage for anyone around the PSU program to not acknowledge that fact and move on.
