OT: GPS pet collars

Anyone use these? Looking for recommendations.

I must be slow because I didn't know these were a thing. Does it pin where your dog drops a deuce so you can clean it up later or is it just for if they get lost?

I think they track their movement so its mostly useful if they get lost, I mean that's why I'd want it. In theory, you should be able to go on an app and find where they are but I don't know enough about them

Look up “TILE”. I can’t speak for how well it works, but a few of my family members have it. It’s a tiny square that you can put on a key ring or dog collar, or stuff in your wallet or purse. Seems like the perfect solution.

Tile uses Bluetooth so it won't be of any help finding a pet unless the pet has a cell phone. GPS pet collars use the cell network to post the collars position to thier service that can then be retrieved by an app. Most allow you to set boundaries that can then be used to alert you when the pet is outside of the boundary. Most cost about $10/month plus the collar which is $100-$200. AKC has one, there is Whisper and a few others. Nuzzle says that they are free.

My brother should have invested in one of these for each of his four wives.

Compare the cost of this device to the million or so that he shelled out to settle with each of them.

A guy I worked with couldn't keep it at home and was all over the place with lots of women. He cancelled his EZ Pass so he wife or wife's lawyer couldn't get his records. What he forgot was Mercedes has some device in their cars (possibly connected with the built-in GPS not sure) that has tracking info and the lawyer got possession of that and it sank his ship. All of us at work were pulling for his wife since he was a class A "dirtbag."

Wonder how much range they have? Could I put it on my wife's keychain so I know if she gets close to Nordstrom's???
